Bee Mine!

Carrying on with the love theme, today I have a card to show you using another image from Drawn With Character which is called Bee Mine.
I decided that as the image was of bees I would use my Spellbinders nesting Hexagon dies to make a honeycomb effect with patterned papers on a honeycomb shaped card base. I went into my craft room to look for the dies, brought them downstairs so that I could scan them into Photoshop (I like to lay my card out in Photoshop and re-size papers etc., so that the patterns aren't too big for the shapes), I opened the packet grabbed the first die and then realised that I was a total idiot! they weren't hexagons at all, they were octagons LOL! and totally unsuitable for a honeycomb.

I still wanted to use the honeycomb layout so ended up cutting the shapes out by hand.
I also liked the idea of adding a love themed charm to the card but somehow or other ended up with 5 of them, dangling across the card like bunting, (I couldn't decide which one looked best, so decided to use them all, well you know what they say - less is more, but even more is even better hehe!). I also added a small piece of feather to the end of the arrow that is piercing the heart.

Digital Stamp - Bee Mine - Drawn with Character - Etsy (coloured in Photoshop)
Digital Papers and heart with arrow - Hearts Desire kit -Crazy 4 Monograms
Charms and black metallic cord - Meiflower

You're Tweet!

I recently came across a store selling digital stamps on Etsy called Drawn with Character, and as usually happens with me, found that three of the images just jumped into my basket LOL!
I managed to get them coloured up last week whilst looking after my grandson, (I do so love that couple of hours when he is asleep hehe!) and two of them made into cards, so today I thought I would share one of them with you.
I coloured the image in Photoshop as usual and then printed straight onto Kraft card, printing the image out twice, each time on a different setting, to see which turned out best, as it happened there wasn't much difference between them.

As I had printed two images I decided to make two cards using the same layout for both, but making one with scalloped borders and the other with ribbons (this will be a sample for Meiflower).

Here are my cards

Digital Image - You're Tweet - Drawn with Character - Etsy
Woodware long reach ribbon slot punch
Grosgrain ribbons and stick on gems - Meiflower

Digital image - as Above
I rubbed a white ink pad around the edges of the Kraft card
Digital Papers - Love You digital scrap kit - Just So Scrappy (can't find it on site to link)
Ribbon, charm, pearl hearts - Meiflower

Cascade cards

Here's a couple of  cards I have put together using the new Paper Creator Cascade card kits. They are soooo easy to put together but give you something a bit different from the usual card shapes, each kit comes with layers for decoupage and a matching envelope.

For the Halloween card I added the word Boo! - in die-cut letters - to the front of the cascade section and attached a bat to a strip of acetate so that it looks like it's flying out of the card.

Bat - Halloween Hooligans - Nitwits
Die cut Letters - Lifestyle Splendid Alphabet
Charm - stash
Ribbon - Meiflower

With the cupcake concertina, I added a punched border to the back and front of the card, lots of glitter to the cupcake icing, a flower from a Nitwits kit, and ribbon and a cupcake charm from Meiflower.

There are more cascade designs available over at Paper Creator, you can find them all HERE

Thanks for popping by and taking a look,
hugs,

Snowey and his Bluebird

It's the start of the next challenge at Paper Creator today and this time around the theme is
Christmas
We would love for you to play along and show us your Christmas creations, the randomly drawn winner gets £10 to spend in store, and you don't even have to use Paper Creator products to enter.

For my card I used the fab Sassy Cheryl illustration Snowey and his Bluebird, and designed myself an easel book card using some brilliant label shapes I bought from a digital scrapbooking site. I used a digital scrapbook kit for the background papers that picked up the colours in the image.

Image - Snowey and his bluebird - Sassy Cheryl at Paper Creator
Papers and Merry Christmas wordart - Santa Baby digital scrap kit - Just So Scrappy
Label Shapes - Chelle's creations at Scrap Orchard
Snowflakes - Martha Stewart border punch (I cut the border apart to make individual flakes)
Wonderful time of the year word art - Computer generated
Ribbons and Gems - Meiflower
Charm was a gift from a friend.

Pop over to the Paper Creator challenge blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of my teamies.

I'll be back tomorrow, with the shark themed cards I made for my grandsons birthday and a pic of his shark attack birthday cake.
Enjoy your Saturday,
hugs,

Sew cute!

Many months ago Mei (Meiflower) gave me a couple of needle charms and asked me if I could use them on a card. I immediately went looking for a digi stamp that would go with the needle and found this beauty at Stitchy Bear. I purchased her and coloured her up and then as usual with me got side-tracked and completely forgot to make a card. I came across the coloured image again yesterday and decided to get stuck in and make up a card, I love the image, she is just beautiful, and I had coloured her in my fave colour combo, so she had everything going for her LOL!

Image - BBKakes - stitcher Fae 2 - Stitchy Bear outlet - coloured in Photoshop
Papers - Birds of a Feather digital scrap kit- Crazy 4 Monograms
Ribbon, scissors and needle charm - Meiflower

I am going to enter her into the following challenges
Penny's Paper-Crafty - #144 Anything Goes
Sisterhood of Crafters - use a digi
Tuesday Throwdown - #164 Anything Goes
Make it Monday - W - always Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's Crafts  - (September) Something Blue

Hoot hoot, give it a kick!

Now I know that title probably has you totally confused, but it's just a little play on the names of the Paper Creator card kits I used for today's cards. I am late posting them, because I've had a very busy day clearing out my craft room - what a job! and how on earth did I accumulate so much stuff?
My lovely hubby also took me to Ikea this evening to buy some more storage, so hopefully when I've had a big sort out and put everything back it will all have a place to call home and I will be more organised (some hope LOL!!!)
I've had to clear it out because we are having a new boiler fitted and of course it's tucked into a corner of my room, so it has forced me - ahem!- given me the perfect opportunity to clear it out, sort it out, move it around and tidy it up, and it's amazing the amount of things (usually dies in my case, hehe!) you find that you had forgotten you even had.

Anyway enough of all that and on to today's cards

This one is from the Curved Front Aperture card Mega bundle, which contains 10 card kits and is on offer for only £5 at the moment. I just happened to have the Nitwits What a hoot collection that the kit was designed with, so printed out a flower from the kit to add to the top of the card.

This Kick It 6x6 card kit is very easy to put together and ideal for boys of all ages.
I just added some polka dot buttons and ribbon in one of the local team colours and a fab football shirt charm from Meiflower.

Have a lovely weekend,
hugs,
Colette xx

Heart Balloon

Phew! is it hot enough for you? being fair skinned and fair haired I must admit I'm not a great lover of the sun, and tend to keep out of it. I usually cover myself in factor 50 sun lotion before I'll even venture out the door as I burn easily, and I have lots of photo's hidden away where my face looks like a tomato. Meg is exactly the same as me, but my hubby, other daughter and grandchildren all tan easily and go a lovely colour, especially Will my oldest grandson, who only has to look at the sun to go brown. Luckily, last year my hubby built a small covered area over part of the patio, so Meg and I can sit in the shade and enjoy the warmth without getting burned.

Just a quick reminder that we are halfway through our Think Pink challenge over at Paper Creator and last week you may remember, that after using a Front Stand card kit but turning it on it's side, I said I would show you one made the right way up this week, so here it is.

Heart Balloon Front Stand kit - Paper Creator
Couture Creations dies - Ivy Set
Ribbons, gems and heart charm - Meiflower

Hope you have a lovely weekend, and that
it is as glorious were you are as it is here.
Hugs,
Colette xx
