Charming!

It's time for a new team B challenge over at the Paper Shelter and this time around our theme is

There are great prizes up for grabs! If you are our randomly selected winner and play with a TPS image then you have a chance of winning a $30 gift certificate, any other image and you will win three digis of your choice.

Now, I don't know if you know this, but when you buy a Paper Shelter digital stamp you not only get the black and white outline, but you also get a pre-coloured version of the digi, a background and a composition (character on  background, ready to use), so for our make it digital challenge I thought that for a change I would use the composition and turn it into a card topper. I resized it in Photoshop and then layered it onto card adding a glitter border before using foam pads to fix it onto my decorated card blank.

Digital topper - Snake Charmer - The Paper Shelter
Papers - Shabtastic digital scrapbooking kit - Just So Scrappy
Copper blaze shimmer card - Limetree crafts (picked up at Sincerely yours show)
Tonic geared punch - scalloped diamond border
Gold ochre glitter on double sided tape
Sentiment - computer generated

Pop over to the Challenge blog and check out the fabulous digital inspiration from my teamies.

Thanks for calling in,

Oh I wish I was punk rocker with flowers in my hair!

Do you remember that song by Sandi Thom, well after I've shown you a couple of cards using some pretty organza flowers from Meiflower, I will show you a very old photograph of me looking as far from a punk rocker as you can get, but definitely with flowers in my hair!

and taking inspiration from this post HERE I made a Christmas wreath, which as well as the organza flowers also uses some gorgeous Meiflower satin ribbon roses.

I think the flowers are only available at the Craft shows as I can't find them in the online store. As well as the flowers I also used stick on gems and pearls, organza and satin ribbons, pearl hearts and diamante ribbon buckles on these creations

Okay, now onto that photo I promised you,
this was taken at my cousin Lynn's wedding, on 23rd August 1969, we wore lilac satin dresses and had purple velvet flowers with a diamante centre pinned randomly all over our beehives.

the chief bridesmaid and girl peeping out from behind the cake are relatives of the groom, I am the one on the left and next to me is my little sister Denise.
The organza flowers from Meiflower reminded me a little of these flowers and would be perfect for adding to hairpins or hairbands.

Paper Creator Mid challenge reminder

We are just about half way through August so time for a quick reminder about the Paper Creator Keep It Simple challenge, there is still plenty of time to enter and be in with a chance of winning £10 to spend in store, pop over to the challenge blog and check it out.

My card for today is another Paper Creator Kit, although it doesn't fit the theme of the challenge, this time around I have used the Warm Wishes shelf card kit. This card is really easy to make as you get step by step photographic instructions in the kit, I also made up the matching envelope.

I added a couple of extra layers of decoupage,, X-cut punched holly and Meiflower ribbon and stick on gems to the star, a glittery pompom on the hat, as well as adding glitter to the hat brim and a couple more stick on gems to the sentiment.

The card folds flat for posting and fits into the envelope provided, which you can hopefully see from the picture has a bit of depth to it to fit all the layers.

Paper Creator August Challenge

Another month, another Paper Creator challenge and this time around our theme is...

The winner will receive a £10 store credit to spend in the Paper Creator store.

Paper Creator products are not essential, but you will gain an extra entry into the random draw if using them.

I used the Loving the White Stuff Ultimate Kit and in my image editing software (Photoshop) I opened up an A4 page, re-sized one of the papers from the kit to fit onto a 6x6 square card, added the image and a sentiment to it, added a second image to one side for a layer of decoupage and printed the sheet.
I cut out the paper, fixed it to my card blank and used a Sakura quickie glue pen to draw over all the snowflakes before adding Nuvo diamond sheen glitter, I also glittered around the edge of the paper. I fussy cut the second image and fixed over the first with foam pads, used an X-cut snowflake punch to cut a snowflake from glitter card, fixed a Meiflower button to the centre and arranged on the card above the sentiment, Quick and simple.

Pop over to the Paper Creator challenge blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies.
