Charming!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Paper Creator challenge blog and the theme is
You don't have to use a Paper Creator product to be in with a chance of winning a £10 gift certificate to spend in store, but if you do you get an extra entry into the random draw.

For my challenge card I used a fab kit called Corset 6x6 card kit, I printed out all the pages and then used them to make a centre step card, instead of the intended square card, which is why these kits are so fab, they are really versatile and don't have to be used just as shown.

The card shape and scalloped mat layers were die cut.

Card base and scalloped layers - Step card cutting die -  Presscuts by Crafts Too

Well the holiday is over!

Eric and I have enjoyed a lovely break in Anglesey over the last few days, we were really lucky with the weather with bright sunshine and warmth every day. The cottage we stayed in was about 20 feet, at most, from the waters edge when the tide was in, and every room had a window overlooking the sea. We came back feeling relaxed and refreshed yesterday, picked Meg up from respite this morning at 10 o'clock and by 11 0'clock there was music blaring all over the house, and toileting and personal care stuff to attend to, and it felt like we had never been away LOL!

When I got home yesterday, I found that the postman had delivered the latest issue of Complete Cardmaking, Magazine. The magazine comes with a free CD containing digi stamps, images and papers from various companies. This time around there are stamps from the Paper Nest Dolls, papers and toppers from Crafters Companion, a Sarah Paris Christmas kit (digi stamps and papers - which I was lucky enough to get to play with) and a couple of Daisy Trail kits for those of you who use Serif Craft Artist.

Here's one of the cards I made for this issue.

Paper and digital stamps - Sarah Paris Digi-kit - Complete cardmaking issue 52 Free CD
Kraft Card - Anna Marie Designs
X-cut Large Palm punch - Holly Branch
Nellie Snellen Pine branch die
Spray Adhesive
Glamour Dust
Stick on pearls - Meiflower

I still have another eight cards made from this collection so I will be showing them over the coming weeks.

Thanks for visiting,

When you purchase digi stamps from the Paper Shelter you also get a pre-coloured version and for this challenge I have used the pre-coloured image Vanity. I added the sentiment before printing and printed the image out several times so that I could decoupage it.

If only....

...there were more hours in a day and more days in a week, especially this month! September is one of the busiest months for family birthdays and anniversaries, plus a couple of weddings too, that I am just about keeping on top of all the cards I need to make.
Yesterday was my brother-in-law Robert's birthday and about 3 o'clock in the afternoon I suddenly realised I hadn't made him a card, on top of that, it is his son (my nephew) Matthew's birthday on the 18th and Rob and Carole's wedding anniversary on the 20th. As hubby and I will be away that week, celebrating our Silver wedding in a gorgeous cottage right by the sea in Holyhead (check it out here), I decided it would be best to get all their cards made and dropped off last night while we there enjoying cake and wine for Rob's birthday.

A couple of hours later and here's what I came up with.

For Rob
Papers and toppers all came from A Play on Words CD rom by Ella's designs
Ribbon and charm - Meiflower

Matthew is an opthalmologist so I thought this would be perfect for him
Free eye chart maker - Homemade gifts made easy
Ribbon - Meiflower

Rob abd Carole's wedding anniversary

Paper - Forever and Always digital Scrapbooking kit - Just So Scrappy
Sentiment - computer generated
Ribbon, diamante ribbon slider and gems - Meiflower

All quite simple, but serve their purpose.

Don't forget there is a DT call going on at The Paper Shelter at the moment, you can find all the details here.

Too cute!

It's the start of another challenge over at Paper Creator today and this time around our theme is...

The randomly drawn winner gets a £10 voucher to spend in store - you don't have to use Paper Creator products, but if you do you will get a second entry into the draw.

I found this book easel card kit in store and the sentiment just made me think of my youngest grandson Charlie, not that he is particularly naughty but he definitely has the cute factor, especially when he looks at you with his puppy dog eyes, it's practically impossible to be angry with him LOL!

I made up the kit adding gold glitter to the edges of each page and using all the decoupage layers for the reindeer (not really showing up in photo), then added some sparkly gold ribbon, red and green jingle bells and snowflakes punched from red glitter card.

Glitter card - stash
Snowflake punches - X cut palm punch - snow crystal small and medium
Gold ribbon, jingle bells and red metallic cord - Meiflower

Don't forget to pop over to the Paper Creator challenge blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies,

thanks for visiting,
have a lovely weekend,

Monday 1 September 2014

It's almost the most wonderful....

...time of the year, yes folks not long now to Christmas, only 114 days to go, and they are going to fly by, if the rest of the year is anything to go by.
Have you made a start on your Christmas cards yet? - no? - me neither, even though I have already made 19 Christmas cards! unfortunately they were either Meiflower samples which will be on show on her stall, at all the upcoming craft shows, or a magazine commission, which I won't be able to share with you until mid-September when the magazine goes on sale. I  have photographs of them all, so I am going to be showing the Meiflower samples over the next couple of weeks.

Now as you know I am not a stamper, but I really like the Kraft cards I have seen with white stamping on them, so I decided to do a digital version with snowflakes.

Digital Kraft card - Organics Kraft pack - Pink Petticoat
Digital snowflakes - PNGraphics - Etsy
Tonic layering dies - Scalloped Squares
Ribbon, gems and jingle bells - Meiflower
