Princess Twinkle toes

Hi there, it's time for another challenge over at My Besties, this week it is my teams turn, but before I tell you this weeks theme I want to let you know about a few changes to the challenge.
You can now choose to do either - anything goes or follow the theme -  you still have to use a My Besties image for whichever part of the challenge you are following, and if you enter an anything goes card you won't be in the draw to win 5 My Besties Digi images (only cards that follow the theme than do that) but you will still be in the draw for one of the two runners up prizes of 3 My Besties Digi images.
Another new feature is that  from now on we will also be having a DT favourite, so each week one member of the DT gets to pick their favourite card from all the entries and that person will win 3 digi images, there is also a special blinkie for the DT favourite.

We would love to see your creations using either the

Bow Crazy

It's time for another challenge over on the My Besties challenge blog, this time around it's Team A's turn and our theme is
so show us your creations using a My Besties image and Bows to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in store.

I was playing around with a square piece of card and thought I'd use a corner die in each corner and see what it would look like, then I decided to cut a fancy shape from the middle, I was quite happy with the effect, but then it occurred to me that I could cut a shape from each of the areas between the corners, so out came a heart die ,the hearts were die cut and I was left with a quite ornate frame.

Spellbinders - Labels 11

As she was called Banana Pie I thought it would be a good idea to make my one other colour yellow, it's a bit brighter than a banana yellow but with all the glorious sunshine we are having at the moment a bright sunny yellow seemed more appropriate.
Don't forget to take a look at the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies over on the challenge blog.

Also a quick mention about the month long Besties of Oz challenge that is running alongside the regular weekly challenges, use one of the Besties of Oz images on your project and play along with the challenge to be in with the chance of winning a massive $100 cash prize.

Shabby Chic?

Welcome to another My Besties Challenge, this time around the theme is
to be honest I never quite know how to do shabby, and usually end up just rubbing the edges of the papers with a brown ink pad, which is exactly what I've done this time LOL! although I've also used a creamy ink pad this time too and crumpled up the paper I used to make the rolled roses before die cutting them, I rubbed a white metallic paint over the corners to give them a slightly metallic look, which unfortunately doesn't show up so well in the photo.  Hopefully that will be shabby enough, as for the chic part - I don't have a chic bone in my body hehe!

Make a Splash!

Here's a card I made for the recent My Besties Newsletter. I made a side stepper card, with an extra "step" at the front, as I wanted my Bestie to look like she was floating along on her inflatable tyre ring (something I wouldn't need if I wanted to float, as I have my own built in spare tyre! Hehe!)

Image - img830 - My Besties (coloured in Photoshop)
Papers and splash - Pool Party - Just so Scrappy
Fish - Nitwits Collections - From the Sea
Wording - computer Generated
Mother of pearl card and jute - from stash

I printed out the wave paper and cut along the wave design, then added a bit of glamour dust to the edge of the top wave on each section. The back section containing the image is made up of three layers of  'waves' added with foam pads to give dimension, the image, fish and splash sentiment have also been fixed into place using foam pads.

I am entering this card into the following challenges
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Summer
Charisma Cardz -  #25 Recipe card 1, 2, 3 Recipe ( 3 shells, 2 fish, 1 image)
MilkCoffee Challenge - Summer fun
Paper Crafting Journey -  Anything but a Square
LEJ Designs  - #59 The Sun Has Got His Hat On

My Besties Pearls and Lace challenge

It hardly seems like 5 minutes since I posted my teams last challenge and here we are a fortnight later and it's our turn again. This time around the theme is
If you want to be in with the chance of winning $30 worth of digi images, then show us your Pearl and Lace creations using a My Besties image.
There are so many gorgeous images to choose from I always find it difficult to pick which image I want to use, but this time around I decided to go with the beautiful Daffodilla, but as it is now summer (well at least it's supposed to be) instead of Spring I used my artistic licence (bought cheaply at a local car boot sale, as you can probably tell LOL!) to colour the daffodils as sunflowers.

My Besties Image  -Img660 Daffodilla - coloured in Photoshop
Papers and butterfly - Just So Scrappy - Denim and Daisies Scrap Kit
Lifestyle Die - Doily Circle
Lace and pearl string - Stash
Ribbon and stick on pearls - Meiflower

The right hand edge of the card front follows the shape of the gingham border (comes in kit ) and is shorter than the card back, so the green curvy strip at the end is actually part of the card inside. I cut all the little scallops around the front card edge by hand, firstly out of the printed paper, then once the paper was stuck to the card front, I cut around them again, very time consuming, but I like the effect it gives.

Pop over to the challenge blog and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of my teamies.

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Hobby House - Anything Goes
Digi Haven - Anything Goes with a Digi
Pennys Paper Crafty - 1 Image, 2 Papers, 3 Embellishments
Alphabet Challenge - I for Image
Glitter N Sparkle - 3 of Something (pearls in groups of 3 around die cut)
Sister act card Challenge - Anything goes
Challenges 4 Everybody -Anything goes

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish my gorgeous niece Nicola a very happy 21st birthday today, and a big congrats on your First with Honours in your Art and Fashion degree - being chosen to show off your collection at Graduate Fashion Week in London and being one of the 10 designers chosen by Victoria Beckham at Fashion week, to meet and have a chat with her, way to go Nic!

Thanks for stopping by,

My Besties Challenge, Blog Candy winner and a freebie

Did you enjoy the blog hop, I certainly did, so many beautiful creations from both team A and team B and a fabulous selection of blog candy prizes.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments and a big welcome to all my new followers.
The randomly drawn winner of my Blog Candy is
Natalie Z. *Paselska*
Congratulations!
Please contact me via my email address in my profile and put Blog Candy winner as the subject and I will sort out getting your prize to you.

The theme for this weeks challenge is
and we would love to see your fabulous birthday creations using a My Bestie image.
The winner receives a massive $30 gift certificate to spend in store.

Image - Sweet Mary Lou - Coloured in Photoshop
Digital Papers - Flowers after the rain - Sweet shoppe Designs
Marianne Creatable - Anja's leaves 3
Sentiment by me (freebie below)
Flower - scalloped circle dies
Ribbons, diamanté ribbon slider, gems - Meiflower

The flower is made from tissue paper, I folded a piece of tissue paper up until there were nine layers then used the 3 smallest scalloped circle dies to cut it out (cuts through all nine layers at once, so quick and easy). I layered these up from largest to smallest and pushed a brad through the centre. I then scrunched every layer, one by one, around the centre brad (this takes a bit of time), and then opened them out again to make the flower. I was trying to make something similar to the flowers on her headband and waistband, and was quite pleased with the result as it does look similar.

I also changed the colour of the digi stamp to a medium brown then darkened around the eyes and the eyelashes (every girl needs lashings of mascara).

You can find lots of gorgeous Bestie images in store HERE
and don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of my teamies fabulous creations.

You can snag the sentiment circles by clicking on each one to make it larger, then right click and "save as"

Thanks for stopping by,
have a lovely day,
