Today I thought I would share with you not only a card I made to say thank you to a friend, but also a couple of the baby blankets I have been crocheting.
For the card I used
Sue Wilson Caribbean Island Collection - Background
Memory Box - Vivienne Butterfly and Darla Butterfly
Pearls and gems - Meiflower
Sentiment - ~Computer Generated
As I said in a previous post, after Meg passed away I just couldn't get my brain into card making mode, so instead I picked up my crochet hooks and began making baby blankets, these are the first ones I made.
I bought the pattern from Etsy and started with the pink one, after a couple of rows I no longer needed the pattern and could just work away at it while watching TV, I enjoyed it so much I made a second in blues and then a third in lemon and mint, although you can't tell from the photo the wool I used on the lemon and mint one has a sparkly thread through it, so the blanket actually has a bit of a twinkle (it's always best to get them into sparkle at an early age LOL!).
A big plus for this three colour pattern was that you carried the different colours up the sides of the blanket and then the border covered them, so no cutting and weaving in millions of ends, brilliant!

My daughter has just taken the pink one for a friend, but the others are stored in a box waiting for babies to come along, I'm sure they will go to a good home one of these days,
Thanks for stopping by,
They are gorgeous Colette, adore the crochet flower on them too. I crochet also, but just simple blankets as I am unsure of following a crochet pattern . . . not been crocheting long (just couple of years!!!) Take care and enjoy your Sunday x
Stunning Colette they must have taken you quite some time to make, love your colour to. hugs Shirleyxxxxxx
Wow Colette these are stunning, you are clever! So nice to see you back blogging again ;)
Hi Colette.... your card is beautiful and I'm sure your friend will love it... who could not resist that pink? LOL! Beautiful large diecut and butterfly too!
And WOW to those baby blankets! They will become treasures and you are so clever making them! I have never conquered crochet... but at the moment I have a little bag under my coffee table with a ball of yarn and a hook....... I fancy having a go at amigurumi to make a little animal. Do you think I'm being a tad optimistic?? LOL! One day, I'll get it out!! hehe
Oh wow ! love what you do Colette ! superb baby blankets wow !! So amazing !
