Birthday Bash

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to have my card chosen as the winner of the Humour challenge over at My Sheri Crafts challenge blog, the prize was a GDT spot for this weeks challenge.

I made a card and matching boxelope, as the die-cut flowers made my card too thick to go into an ordinary envelope, anyone who knows me well will also notice that I have used my most favourite colour combo too.

Time for....

...a new challenge over at Paper Creator and this time around our theme is

Animals

I am off on my holibobs today for the next week, we are off to a little holiday complex that has all the adaptations we need for Meg, it's only just over an hour away from home, but we are in the perfect place to easily visit the Lake District and Yorkshire. Fingers crossed that the weather is good because we have a hot tub and I'm hoping to make sure it gets plenty of use, Meg will be able to use it too, as it has a hoist to get her in and out.

It's a Celebration

Digital Stamp - So Pretty - The Paper Shelter

I made the gem swirls by cutting a piece of scrap card to the size of the area I wanted the swirl to go, I  drew a swirl onto the card with a pencil and used my pricking tool to punch holes through the swirl design at regular intervals. I then used this as a template, placing it onto the card and drawing a dot through each of the holes with a propelling pencil, I removed the card and stuck a gem to each dot and et voila! I had my swirls.

Saving the Day!

I'm off to the theatre tonight to see Dirty Dancing, with my daughter, my friend and her daughter, really looking forward to a girl's night out.

Now a girls night out makes me think of wine (is that normal LOL!), I have quite a collection of jokey wine themed sentiments and I am always looking for images that will go with them, so I was thrilled when I came across this Bugaboo digi-stamp, and then to top it all off I found a little corkscrew charm in my stash for the perfect finishing touch.

The sentiment makes me giggle every time I read it (am I easily amused? - probably!) which is brilliant as I am having a few health problems at the moment which are getting me down a bit, nothing too serious, but causing me a few problems, including with my eyesight, which is a nightmare for me as I tend to do quite a bit of fussy cutting and when everything I look at has a little halo around it, it's hard to tell exactly where I should cut.

My health, is also the reason why my blog has been a bit neglected lately, and probably will be for a few more weeks, hopefully once I get my medication sorted and I start feeling less tired I can get back on track.

Anyway, enough of that, onwards and upwards as the saying goes,

I've used one of the older images for my card (although it's long been a favourite). I decided to go with an orange, blue, pink and yellow colour combo because I saw a dress in those very colours and it really stood out. I usually choose my papers first and then colour my image to match, but this time around I coloured first, because I had decided I would design my own papers, to match the colours in the image.
