Circles

The latest team B challenge over at The Paper Shelter starts today and this time around our theme is

(pearls, buttons, flowers, gemstones etc., will not count as circles)

There are great prizes up for grabs! If you are our randomly selected winner and play with a TPS image then you have a chance of winning a $30 gift certificate, any other image and you will win three digis of your choice.

Now I have to be honest, I had almost finished making my card before I remembered that it needed to contain circles, oops! so I had to quickly change my design.

I used one of my very favourite Paper Shelter images for this card, I love this little angel, but it has taken me nearly two years to finally get around to colouring her, mainly because there are so many fab images, it is always hard to decide which one to use, and the newer releases are always fresher in my mind than some of the older ones in my collection.

Papers - Sunshine and Laughter - Nitwit Collections
Tattered Lace - Studley die
Lifestyle Nesting frame 2
X-cut punch - Petals, large and medium
Cheery Lynn  - B147 Olive branches
Crispy Lace - Turquoise - Cuddly Buddly

Don't forget to pop over to the Paper Shelter challenge blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies (who probably all remembered to use some circles LOL!)

I decided to use one of the images from the Cute Nurses set for my card, and after colouring up the image I matched it with papers from the Ouchies kit from Nitwit Collections. I used a black background as I thought it would make the colours pop a bit more.

It's a Celebration

Over at the Paper Shelter today we are celebrating our 200th challenge, and our theme for this momentous occasion is
There are great prizes up for grabs! If you are our randomly selected winner and play with a TPS image then you have a chance of winning a $30 gift certificate, any other image and you will win three digis of your choice.

Here's my card
Digital Stamp - So Pretty - The Paper Shelter
Papers and butterfly- Summer Breeze - Just So Scrappy
Ribbon, handbag charm and black gems - Meiflower.

I made the gem swirls by cutting a piece of scrap card to the size of the area I wanted the swirl to go, I  drew a swirl onto the card with a pencil and used my pricking tool to punch holes through the swirl design at regular intervals. I then used this as a template, placing it onto the card and drawing a dot through each of the holes with a propelling pencil, I removed the card and stuck a gem to each dot and et voila! I had my swirls.

Make sure you pop over to the Paper Shelter challenge blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies, and don't forget to enter the Celebration challenge.

Birthday Challenge

It's time for the B team to host a new challenge at The Paper Shelter, and this time the theme is

Birthday (with a sentiment)

There are great prizes up for grabs! If you are our randomly selected winner and play with a TPS image then you wsill win a $30 gift certificate, any other image and you will win three digis of your choice.

I've used one of the older images for my card (although it's long been a favourite). I decided to go with an orange, blue, pink and yellow colour combo because I saw a dress in those very colours and it really stood out. I usually choose my papers first and then colour my image to match, but this time around I coloured first, because I had decided I would design my own papers, to match the colours in the image.

Digital Stamp - Zoe Spring - The Paper Shelter
Papers - my own design
Ribbon - Meiflower
Button and thread - stash

Pop over to the challenge blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies, and don't forget to play along with the challenge to be in with the chance of winning some scrummy Paper Shelter images.

When is a chocolate bar wrapper not a chocolate bar wrapper?...

...When it's a backing paper of course LOL!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter today and this time around the theme is

Recycle - use something recycled on your creation

bet that blog title is starting to make sense now!

There are great prizes up for grabs! If you are our randomly selected winner and play with a TPS image then you have a chance of winning a $30 gift certificate, any other image and you will win three digis of your choice.

So just in case the blog post title didn't give it away, I have recycled the wrapper from a bar of Galaxy bubbles chocolate, mmmmm, yummy! a delicious present from my good friend Karen. The paper is a lovely metallic brown colour with yellow gold rings all over it and as I was licking the chocolate off the wrapper  brushing chocolate crumbs from the wrapper :-) I knew it would be perfect for this challenge. The red glitter hearts were die-cut and punched from a Christmas card.

I made an easel card with a little tag tucked in behind the main image.

Digital stamp - Birds Couple - The Paper Shelter
Papers - Love you - Just So Scrappy
Ovals - Spellbinders nestabilities - Oval Bliss
Magnolia Doo hickey - Leaf and Swirl die
EK Success slim edger punch - Arch Scallop

Sizzix Framelits Hearts #2 die
X-cut palm punch - Traditional hearts - medium and small
Whiff of Joy - Sweet tags die set
Satin Polka dot ribbon - Meiflower
Sentiment computer generated - reads -
In life's adventures
may happiness be your
destination

Here's a quick look at the card with the tag removed.

I am entering this card into the following challenges
