Good catch

I really struggle to make cards for the males in my life, I don't know what it is, (well for me, it's probably because you can't really glitter it to within an inch of it's life, and add lots of sparkly gems and pretty bows hehe!). I mean there are enough things out there in the world that men like to do, most sports, cars, diy, etc.,  but actually putting a card together is a struggle, which is why last week over two days, I printed out and put together nine (I don't do things by half  LOL!) Paper Creator kits all male themed and suitable for a variety of ages.
The kits are so easy to put together that you can spend a little time to make a lot of cards and now at least if a male card is needed I know I will have one, especially as my oldest daughter seems to think that I am her personal card shop and is always popping in for a last minute card, I don't think she knows what a proper card shop looks like, in her mind it is her mum's craft room LOL!

I will be showcasing the cards over the next couple of weeks, and today we have the first.

Good Catch 6x6 card kit - Paper Creator
Ribbon and charm - Meiflower
small piece of embroidery thread for the fishing line.

I used brown card instead of my usual white for the card base and although the kit is for a basic square card, I made a fold back card, I cut the background sheet into two and added a piece to each section of the fold back, I also printed the background out a second time and used it for the inside of the card. I decoupaged all the layers and added a piece of embroidery thread to the rod for the fishing line. The kit also comes with a matching envelope.

Sparkles n Glitter

Two of my favourite things to put on a card, but this time around it's the name of the gorgeous Bestie digi stamp I have used.
I may have mentioned last week how much I love these images, so much so that I have had to keep away from the store this week as I have had to curb my spending for a few days, and if I went over there I'm sure another dozen or so images would probably jump into my shopping cart LOL! Luckily I was one of the runners up in the last challenge and got to pick myself 2 digi's as my prize, so at least I got a little fix. of Bestie lusciousness.

I thought I would enter the challenge again this week and the theme is Ribbons, so I decided to colour up  the Sparkles n Glitter digi image (how cute is that seahorse?) and use ribbon to make..............
some little ribbon fishes (ha! bet you didn't see that coming did you?). I had seen a digi version of them on a scrap booking site earlier in the week and immediately thought I could make them in 'real life', so I did.

Digital Stamp - Sparkles n Glitter Bestie - Sherri Baldy - Coloured in Photoshop
Background - Couture Creations embossing folder - Drink Me (thought it looked like bubbles in the water)
Splash with computer generated wording - Pool Party Scrap kit - Just so Scrappy
Shells - Marianne Creatables - Sea shells
Ribbons and black pearls - Meiflower

As they are called Sparkles n Glitter, I thought they should, so added glamour dust to the mermaids fringe and tail spots and also to the little seahorses hair and tail.

The ribbon fish were made by making a small version of the breast cancer ribbon and then tying it together with some narrower ribbon where they cross, and trimming the ends to make the tail.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges.

Besties Challenge - Ribbon + Bestie
Lexi's Creations - Lace and/or Ribbons
Make it Monday  - always Anything Goes
LEJ Designs  #50 Mystical Majical or Mysterious
Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Delicious Doodles - #33 - Something Fishy (mermaids, fishies, boats)
Alphabet Challenge  - F is for Fantasy

Thanks for stopping by,
have a nice weekend,

More Gorjuss and Kraft Notes

Once again today I have both a Gorjuss card and Kraft Notes card to show you, I am almost at the end of the cards for this Docrafts promotion now, only another one of each to go, which I will probably show you early next week. As usual everything used is available from Crafty Devils Papercraft.

This card is made from an A5 card blank, I cut a section from the front and added a punched border I then used the same papers to decorate both the front and inside. Almost everything else on the card came from the packaging that the decoupage sheets come in, even the image.
The shaped section to the left is made from the flap of the packaging, the heart on the inside is also from the packaging, (I covered the company logo with some patterned tape) and used the same ribbon that held the heart tag onto the packet. If you carefully take the packaging apart you will find 4 more images on the inside, and for this card I used one of them.
Gorjuss A4 Decoupage pack -The Pretend friend
Black card and paper
Tonic Geared Punch - Doily Border
Tonic regular boot punch -Daisy

On this card the topper is suspended across an opening in the card on a strip of acetate.
I cut a piece of card very slightly wider than the topper from the folded edge of the card blank, through both layers, I then scored both layers about 1cm in from the folded edge, then decorated the card inside and out, adding a punched border to both the front and back. Once I had made up the topper I attached a strip of acetate to the back, almost the full width of the card and fastened it into place by sandwiching it between the scored section.

Gorjuss Kraft Notes

Hi, today I have a couple more of my Crafty Devils samples to show you. I thought I would mix it up a bit today and show you a Gorjuss card and a Kraft Notes card.
Everything used is available from Crafty Devils papercraft.

As the decoupage almost filled my 6x6 card blank, I decided not to use papers, just add a couple of strips of the patterned tape around the edges of the decoupage instead.

I die cut the lattice from the card blank and then decorated around it with strips of paper, using a contrasting paper inside, I then made up the decoupaged bear and added a butterfly and some flowers to the lattice, finishing off with a bow and sentiment.

Fairy Kisses

I bought a new flower die a couple of weeks ago and have been desperate to try it out, so I was determined to use it on today's card, and I have to say I love it, cornflowers are one of my favourite flowers ( the reason for buying the die LOL!) and although I thought it might be a bit complicated to do, it was quite easy.
I have used an older Teddy Bea image and coloured her in my most favourite colour combo, then I printed the image quite large as I wanted it to be the focus of the card. My plan was for a simple card, no designer papers, (which I managed to stick to), the flower, a sentiment and ribbon, but then I had to add the butterflies and glitter and bling Bea's wings- I can't help myself if I see an empty space I just have to put something in it!

Rose Blossom Bestie

A couple of days ago while searching Google for something completely unrelated I came across a beautiful image that immediately caught my attention, of course I had to go and investigate, with my fingers and everything else crossed that she was a digi image and not a rubber stamp, (cos' as you know I don't do rubber) and, lo and behold, there she was in a fabulous Etsy store belonging to the
very talented Sherri Baldy.
Now the store was full of gorgeous images and I wanted to own every one of them, my heart screamed - buy them all - but my head was saying - now be sensible Colette, you can only colour one at a time and your pockets aren't that deep, so start off slowly and build up your collection, after a lot of hand wrenching and brow mopping  I decided my head was right, so I only bought....

 twelve!!!!!! LOL!

Once I had my grubby little hands on them I had to decide which one to colour first, I ummed and aaahed but was struggling to choose, until my daughter Stacy turned up. She was ooohing and aaahing over them all until we came to Rose Blossom, and she immediately fell in love, (she loves anything with an Eastern flavour and collects Kokeshi dolls) so the decision was made, and here she is in all her glory.

Digital Stamp - Rose Blossom - Sherri Baldy Art (Etsy) -Coloured using Photoshop
Digital Papers - Oh So Pretty - Just So Scrappy
Butterfly Die - Elizabeth Craft Designs - Small butterfly
Tonic geared punch - Victorian Border
X-cut 1 inch circle punch (used to make the little rolled roses)
Font- Japanese Style - dafont.com
Fan charm and beaded pin - Stash
Ribbon, pearl ribbon slider and yellow gems - Meiflower

Oh dear, just been over to the Etsy store to grab the link and you'll never guess what happened, three more stamps just jumped into my basket LOL!

I think I am going to enter this into the Besties challenge which this week is to use flowers, now I know they are small and not your 'traditional' flower, but my little rolled roses are still flowers, aren't they?

Besties Challenge - Flowers
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes

If you get a chance pop over to my friend Clairebears blog and check out her Bestie, and you can find a lot more cards made with these luscious images HERE.

**Just to let you know there will be no Teddy Bo Tuesday as we are taking a break for a while, there will hopefully be some new images in a few months but no challenges for now**

Thank you for calling in,

Friends and alcohol

I saw this brilliant sentiment on a fridge magnet and knew that I just had to use it on a card, so I matched it up with a Bugaboo's JJ digital stamp and this is the result.

Spots and Dots

It's time for another challenge over on the Paper Creator blog and this time around the theme is
Spots and Dots
We would love to see your spotty and dotty designs, and you can use any products, they don't have to be Paper Creator, but if you do use Paper Creator products you get two entries into the draw. The winner will receive a £10 voucher to spend in the store, so what are you waiting for, lets get Spotty and Dotty!

I have used a Sassy Cheryl illustration called 'have you heard' which has two little ladybirds on it (they have spots) then I've made big spots with spotty paper for my card background and added a spotty ribbon and gorgeous enamelled ladybird charm with diamanté spots( from Meiflower ). I've glittered around each of the large spots as well as around the white square, layered up the image with foam pads and used glossy accents to give the ladybirds some dimension.

It's certainly not short of a spot or two hehe!

Almost Kissing

I'm going through a bit of a black and white phase at the moment - in-between my bright colours and turquoise/purple combo phase of course LOL! and have made a black and white wedding anniversary card with a fabulous silhouette from Stitchy Bear's digi outlet called Almost Kissing.

I drew out some rough swirls on paper and then poked small holes in them where I wanted a gem to go, I then laid it onto the card and used a pencil to mark through the holes onto the card front and added various sized gems in a random pattern.

Teddy Bo Tuesday

I can't believe that it's Tuesday again already, the last week has flown by, probably because of the Easter Monday Bank Holiday which made last week seem like a very short week. Anyway as it's Tuesday that can only mean one thing, time for another Teddy Bo card, and once again I have used one of this month's new releases. As the sun is shining and it's starting to look a lot like Spring I thought I would use Daffodil Dancing Bea, I cut out her head and daffodil hat using a circle die.

Plain paper made in Photoshop

Embossed paper - Spellbinders Grand Embossabilities - Flower Delight
Circles - Lifestyle Nesting dies
Polka dot ribbon, flower ribbon sliders and yellow stick on gems - Meiflower

Had a good time at the craft show at Leigh on Saturday, managed to have a chat with Mei, bumped into lots of people I knew and chatted with a couple of ladies from Blackburn when I was having a cup of coffee, it was lovely to meet and have a chat with each and every one of you.
I didn't spend too much, but what I did spend went mostly on dies ( I am definitely a die-aholic LOL!)

My Little Snuggle Bunny

Today I have a tent card made using a sweet Sassy Cheryl illustration called My Little Snuggle Bunny which is available from Paper Creator, and I've teamed it up with digital papers from Just So Scrappy.

I layered up a plain and gingham paper over the card base, hand cutting all the scallops and then added a scalloped band of contrasting plain and patterned paper. I also made the shape of the topper up in Photoshop and hand cut that too.

Digital Papers and butterfly- With a Cherry on Top scrap kit - Just So Scrappy

Die-namics - mini hybrid heirloom rose die

If you love the Sassy Cheryl images but prefer to stamp with rubber then you'll be pleased to know that Sassy Cheryl is bringing out a range of rubber stamps that are now available to pre-order exclusively from Paper Creator.

I'm off to the Sincerely Yours Craft fair at Leigh today, and will probably end up buying lots of stuff I'll never use, as usual LOL!

Enjoy your weekend

All Aboard!

Today I have two cards to show you using some of the Papermania All Aboard products. These are both Crafty Devils samples and you can find all products used in store.

For the first card I made an A5 card blank from orange card, cut part of the front away and rounded the corners on the back., then decorated both with papers from the paper pad.  I die cut a circle of card and map paper to represent a globe and attached to the front of the card. I then attached an Airplane bookmark to the "globe" and used some of the embellishments to finish off the card.

Papermania All Aboard Bookmark Airplane

For this card I used a square card blank, folded the front in half down the middle and then used a circle die to cut through both layers. I added a strip of acetate between the the layers and then glued them together. I decorated the card using papers from the pack and a ribbon clip then fixed the Airplane bookmark to the acetate so that it looks like it is flying.
