Dandelion and butterfly

Today I have a sympathy card to show you, not always the easiest thing to put together, but I always like to have a couple made up, just in case, and already this year I've used all the ones I had, so it was time to replenish my stock. I used one of my favourite images a Hero Arts digi stamp of a dandelion, which I purchased from 2 peas in a bucket many years ago, and have never used until now.  I have tried to link it, but it doesn't seem to be available any longer
I combined the image with pretty papers from a Just So Scrappy kit, and spent a while going over the image with my Sakura quickie glue pen before sprinkling with Glamour Dust.

Digital Stamp - Dandelion - Hero Arts
Papers and butterfly - My Beloved - Just So Scrappy at Life Captured
Ribbon and pearls - Meiflower

I am just finishing off a 10 card commission for the May edition of Complete Cardmaking magazine and then hopefully I can get back to my regular card making and blog a bit more regularly.

Thanks for popping in,
Have a lovely day,

Blooming!

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and this time around our theme is...

There are great prizes up for grabs!
If you are our randomly selected winner and play with a TPS image then you have a chance of winning a $30 gift certificate, any other image and you will win three digis of your choice.

I decided to use one of the newer images, she's called Peaceful Easter and I loved the image of the sleeping girl, snuggling up to her bunny, but I don't tend to make Easter cards, so I coloured the eggs the same colour as the vines and added punched flowers over them to fit in with our blooming theme.

Digital stamp - Peaceful Easter - The Paper Shelter
Papers - So Egg-cited - Crazy 4 Monograms
Flowers - Nellie Snellen Floral Punches in various sizes
Punched leaves - punch no longer available

Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies.

For You Bear

Today I have another shaped card from the Paper Creator 30 shaped cards ultimate bundle, there are so many cards in this bundle that you will be able to find something for every occasion. I used the cute For You Bear to make a birthday card, so easy to put together,  ideal if you need a card in a hurry, the kit also contains a matching envelope, which I have printed out, but not made up yet.

Sliding Balls!

Today's card is one of the most requested themes I get asked for - football - I normally make both a Red and Blue version as I have supporters of both our local teams in the family, but as I am mad busy with magazine work at the moment, and, I stupidly decided to make it harder for myself by doing a slider card and designing my own papers, I only managed to get the red one put together.

I printed onto Papermill White Linen card, because I wanted to make sure that as the card has moving parts it would be pretty sturdy.

Papers - Made by me,

When you pull the tab the balls slide along revealing the wording Eat, Sleep, Live Football and there's a happy birthday message on the slider.

A touch of green

Happy St. Patrick's day!
I have a couple more cards to share with you today, I made them for the January edition of Complete Cardmaking magazine, using papers and images from the On Nitwit's Pond collection, (a mini version of the full Nitwits kit) which you get on the free CD, the cards are not Irish themed in anyway, but a couple of them feature a frog, and he's green, so that's my very tenuous link LOL!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope all you lovely mum's out there are having a fantastic day with your families. My daughter and grandsons will call in this morning, and then we are going out to a local garden centre for lunch and while there hubby is going to buy me a summerhouse for the garden (well at least order one).  Later on we will go and visit our mum's.

Today's card is the one I made for my mum, I've used one of the shaped cards from The Paper Creator 30 shaped cards ultimate bundle, but I have altered it to make an easel card.
I did this by printing out the main card then putting it through the printer again and printing the bg paper on the reverse. I used the score line as a cut line so that I had two pieces, took the back piece and folded it in half to make the "easel" section. I then attached the card front to the front of the easel section, lining up the edges of the flower.
I printed the envelope front onto card printing the bg paper onto the reverse, cut it out, scored along the fold line and then attached the "easel" to the flap (see pic below). My easel card was now ready to decorate. I printed out the envelope front again and used part of it to make the stopper, added the decoupage layers, a sentiment, ribbon, glitter small punched butterflies, pearls and a die cut butterfly to finish it off.

Blue for you Flowers shaped kit - 30 shaped cards ultimate kit - Paper Creator
Marianne Craftables butterfly die - CR1205
Tonic Layering die sets - Scallop circle and plain circle (for sentiment)
X-cut palm punch - medium butterfly
Ribbon and Pearls - Meiflower

Here you can see how I've used the envelope front to make the easel base.

I also have a couple of pics to show you of what I was doing very early on Friday morning, it was Comic Relief day and my grandsons school was having an own clothes day, with optional painted face, so Will decided that he would like a dinosaur on his face as he was wearing a dinosaur T-shirt.

Pot of Flowers

Only one more week to Mother's day and with that in mind I decided to put some cards together using the fabulous 30 shaped cards ultimate bundle from Paper Creator, each card kit contains the card base, decoupage layers, inserts and envelope.
I thought the flower pot card would be perfect, so I made it up, along with it's matching envelope, adding a tag, a punched butterfly and some gems to finish it off.

Wedding Invitations 2015 Part 3

Some more wedding invitation samples from my latest collection.

Blue Pearl Effect Card - Limetree Craft
Ribbon, gems and tiny circle ribbon sliders - Meiflower

Kraft Card - Anna Marie Designs
Crispy Ribbon - Live and Love crafts
Memory Box Pastry Labels die
Ribbon, gems and diamante topper - Meiflower

For this card you can either draw white lines across a piece of appropriately sized paper and stamp or write the sentiment, or do it digitally by using your image editing software (in my case Photoshop)
to make a paper in the colour and size desired, use the drawing tools to draw in white lines and then add a sentiment - print - cut out - fix to card blank and decorate the lines in a random pattern with various sized AB gems and sparkly hearts.

Oh the times they are a-changing!

My nephew has just returned home from a school trip to.... wait for it...... India and Dubai!!!, now when I was a girl, back in the dark ages LOL! the furthest I ever got on a school trip was Wales! although I remember my daughter going to the Isle of Man and France, but India and Dubai, how times have changed. He's come home all fired up and ready to travel the world LOL!

Recently, while I was travelling the world..... wide web..... hehe! (it's the most travelling I do these days), I came across this digi stamp from the Etsy shop Milk Coffee, she's called Soya and dandelion, I love dandelions!(my garden is full of them, so I don't have a lot of  choice) and fairies, so the image had everything going for it, if it just had a penguin too then I would have all my favourite things together in one image. (if anyone ever spots a fairy penguin holding a dandelion digi stamp, be sure and let me know LOL!) Anyway, back to the topic in hand,  every time I spot a digi stamp that contains a dandelion, it somehow manages to jump into my basket, which is exactly what happened with this one, although, instead of gathering dust on my hard drive, as most of my other images do, I decided that I would colour her up straight away and make her into a card.

Digital Stamp - Soya and dandelion - Etsy - MilkCoffee
Papers - A New Day digital scrapbooking kit - Crazy 4 Monograms
