Frosted Ice

Well it won't be long before Santa will be flying through the sky delivering presents to all the good boys and girls ( I hope you've been good LOL!) and with that in mind I have two final Christmas cards to show you, featuring the big man doing just that!

I used a fabulous download from www.crafting.co.uk it's called Night Sky - Frosted Ice and I love it!

Night Sky - Frosted Ice kit
Silver Mirri card
Die'sire Lace border 6 - Crafters Companion
Woven circle die - Memory Box
Metallic edged satin ribbon and gems - Meiflower

Night Sky - Frosted Ice kit
Silver Mirri card
Silver glittery strips - Wrapping ribbon - local Wilkinson's store
Metallic edged satin ribbon and satin flower - Meiflower

There is quite a bit of glamour dust on both of these cards unfortunately it doesn't show up very well in the photos.

I also thought I would pop this final Christmas card on so that they are all blogged by Christmas

Almost everything on this card is from a fabulous kit called Snow Buddies from Just so Scrappy
the only extras are the sentiment (not sure where that came from) and glamour dust.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my blog visitors and followers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy  New Year, I hope Santa brings you everything you wished for and you and your families thoroughly enjoy the holidays.

See you in the New Year,
hugs,
Colette xx

You can never have too much of a good Bling!!!

Not sure if I went a bit over the top with the bling on these two cards, but then again, I am a firm believer in the saying "You can never have too much bling or chocolate" LOL!

The first card was inspired by a wedding anniversary card I received from my friend Karen and the second one was a free digital stamp in one of my Complete Cardmaking Magazines - the wreath image was covered with different sized circles which were just begging (honestly, I could hear them, please bling us up they were saying hehe!) to have bling added to them!

Special Delivery

I recently saw a card on somebodies blog (can't remember where though) with a link to a tutorial, I loved the shape and style of card, so I followed the link, and then followed the tutorial, and made myself one.
I used the fabulous Special Stork Delivery Girl illustration by Sassy Cheryl, which I picked up at Paper Creator a while ago and some gorgeous digital baby papers from lliella designs at Sweet Shoppe, I also used some digital flowers from Fred she Said to decorate the card.

Paper Creator challenge #2

The next Paper Creator challenge starts today (a couple of days late, due to unforeseen circumstances) and this time around the theme chosen by Christina is

Black, White and One other Colour

I decided to use the Sassy Cheryl illustration Christmas Star Angel for my card and teamed it up with some red and black digi papers. I printed the image out twice and attached the stars head and dress with foam pads for a bit of dimension.

Last Teddy Bo of 2012

I thought I would share this card with you today, the Teddy Bo DT are officially on Christmas Break, but I couldn't resist using this little beauty to make one last card. This is one of my favourite Teddy Bea Christmas images so it seemed only fitting that I should use it on my last Teddy Bo card of the year.

Papers - from my box of scraps
Teddy Bea background paper - lliella and K Miller - snow friends.
Whimsical flourish - Memory Box die

Snow Time

Today I have another Paper Creator card to show you, once again using a Sassy Cheryl image. The card kit contains everything needed to decorate a 6 x 6 card blank, backing panels, topper,  pyramage layers, matching envelope, box, inserts and various sentiments.

I inked around the edges of the card blank and layers, adding a punched border down one side, ribbon, charm and some card candi, I also fussy cut around the sentiment, rather than using as it came, and made up the matching envelope.

Kit - Snowtime 6x6 card kit - Paper Creator
Fiskars Snow border punch
Card candi - stash
Ribbon and snowflake charm - Meiflower

Teddy Bo Tuesday

As there are going to be no new Teddy Bo releases until the New Year the DT are showcasing some of their favourite cards from the past, I was planning on colouring and using some of the images that I haven't had a chance to play with yet, but unfortunately I've had one of those weeks and haven't been able to do any colouring or even much in the way of card making, so I am going to showcase one of my favourite cards from last Christmas.

Image TEDDYBOBEA_091 coloured in Photoshop
Kraft and white cardstock
CartUs - snowflakes embossing folder
Cuttlebug - Swiss dots embossing folder
Ribbon - MeiFlower
Lace - Stash

We are starting a new Anything Goes challenge over at Teddy Bo which will be our final challenge of the year and will run until 8th January, so plenty of time to get some entries in if you manage to get some crafting done over the holiday period.

Don't forget the Teddy Bo sale is running until 24th December.

Where the snow falls

Here's another Paper Creator card kit, I'm loving this type of pyramage, it adds dimension to the card, but there is not as much intricate cutting as there would be with decoupage (still my favourite way of adding dimension though LOL!).

The card kit uses the Flat Bottom Snowy illustration from Sassy Cheryl (image also available at Paper Creator), and this time around I have chosen to make the matching box.

Card Kit - Where the Snow Falls - Paper Creator
Snowflake die - Die-namics Jumbo Snowflake (sprayed with adhesive and sprinkled with Glamour Dust)
I also picked out the snowflakes on the image topper with my quickie glue pen
and sprinkled with Glamour Dust.

see you tomorrow,

Just for a change from all the Christmas cards (still more to come) here is a card I made using Sassy Cheryl's Sassy Sally Butterfly Illustration available from Paper Creator.

I love making these "on the edge" cards and have made a few over the past few months, and I thought this was the perfect image to make another one.

Teddy Bo Tuesday

Not too long until Christmas now, only 20 more sleeps until Santa, my seven year old grandson is very excited, and is trying his best to be good so that Santa doesn't take any presents out of his sack (it's the perfect time of year for blackmail and threats LOL!)

We are half way through our current Anything Goes challenge over at Teddy Bo, so still time to get your entry in if you would like to play along. There won't be any new releases now until the new year, so for now the DT are showcasing their favourite Teddy Bo or Fairydoodler cards, or in my case making a card using one of the many images I haven't had a chance to play with yet.

Papers - Brrrrr- Just So Scrappy
Ribbons and gems - Meiflower

There is a big 35% off Christmas sale going on over at Teddy Bo and Co across all three stores, and you can get the above digi stamp in a pack of 6 Percy images for only £1.63, check it out and grab yourself a bargain.

Don't forget to pop over to the TB challenge blog and play along with our Anything Goes challenge, and while there check out the fabby inspiration from Team B.

See you soon,

Paper Creator Challenge Reminder

I had a lovely break in Wales last week, the apartment we stayed in was perfect, the view fabulous, and even the weather was on our side, no rain during the day, and not too cold, we even managed a walk along the beach one day.
I would love to say that I am feeling relaxed and rested, but unfortunately hubby managed to come down with a cold and chesty cough, and has been keeping us both awake during the night, with his coughing and wheezing.

There are just a few more days left to get your entries in to the first Paper Creator challenge, the theme is
All about Christmas
and you can use any products at all. The winner will be randomly selected and win a £10 voucher to spend in the store.

Here's a little gift set of four cards and a box to keep them in, that I made using the same Sassy Cheryl's Winkies Snowday Wishes image as I used on my first DT challenge card last week.

Girly cards

Two more cards today, both girlie cards I had been asked to make.

This was made for my daughters boss's parents to give to their Grandaughter on her 18th birthday, they had scoured the shops but couldn't find a card that had both Grandaughter and 18 on it, so they approached me. They asked for anything to do with shoes, bags and girly. I hate making cards for people I don't know as you are never sure that they are going to like what you do, but luckily they loved the card and said it couldn't have been more appropriate, so that was lucky LOL!

The shoe, bag and all the papers are from a fabulous Crazy 4 monograms kit called Le Diva, although you can't tell from the photo, I printed out the shoe and bag a couple of times and used the extras to add some decoupage.
The flowers were punched out with an X cut flower punch
The ribbon, gems, and bag charm are from Meiflower
Shoe, key and 18 charm are from stash

Another request, this time a smaller, easier version of the card you may have seen on my blog a couple of weeks ago (you'll find it HERE)
Image - Pin-ups_026 - Wonderland Stamps
Papers - Tutu cute - Crazy 4 Monograms
Word art - Naughty 2 Bethany Hart
Border Punch - MS Deep edge blossom eyelet

Phew! we've gotten through a lot of cards this week, probably won't be as many next week LOL!

Reindeer Pull

Hubby and I are going away for a few days today, my daughter Meg (22) is in respite for the week, so it gives us a chance to get away and relax. As much as I love my daughter I sooo look forward to her respite stays, as it means no getting up in the night to toilet or turn her, and a week of undisturbed sleep is just heavenly, when you are normally up a few times every night to see to her needs.

I have scheduled some posts for the week and this is the first.
I love this Sassy Cheryl image of the girl being pulled along on her ski's by the reindeer, it reminds me of  a Labrador dog we had when I was a child, who would do something similar whenever you took him for a walk (well actually he took you for a walk LOL!)

Concertina Snowflake - Tim Holtz mini snowflake rosette die
Snowflake - Marianne Creatables die
Silver cord, Jingle bells and cat's eye shaped Dazzlers - Meiflower

Have you checked out the Paper Creator challenge yet, if not pop over to the blog and have a look, the theme is Christmas and you can use any products at all, doesn't have to be Paper Creator, and you could win a £10 voucher to the store.

Winter Girl

I had a lovely time on Saturday at the Hobbycraft show at the NEC in Birmingham, I went along with a couple of friends and met up with Claire, one of my Teddy Bo design team buddies, (we met there last year for the first time), we had a good chat and did a little shopping. I didn't spend anywhere near as much as usual, because I was trying to be good and not buy any dies (my main weakness) and managed not to buy a single one, waahaaay.

I was worn out yesterday, talking and spending money really tires you out LOL! but it was lovely to catch up with Claire and have a look around at all the fabulous crafting goodies. I watched a couple of demonstrations of the new Ebosser, my hubby bought me one a couple of weeks ago and at the moment it is still in the box, so I am feeling inspired now to get it out and have a play.

I have another Paper Creator card to show you today, once again using pyramage, but this time the layers are cut in circles and I also made up the matching box.

Kit used - Winter Girl - Paper Creator
Organza and grosgrain ribbon - Meiflower

The snowman is cut and embossed and then whilst still in the die, I rubbed over the top with various coloured ink pads to accentuate the embossing.

Thanks for popping in,
hugs,
Colette xx

Leah Angel

I thought I would share a couple of cards with you that I made last month as samples for Meiflower.

For the first one I coloured up a Whimsie Doodles image called Leah Angel, and then did the unthinkable and cut off her wings, I did give her a super shiny new set of wings though, so hopefully Santa hasn't put me on the naughty list LOL!

Digital stamp – Leah angel – www.whimsiedoodles.com coloured digitally.
Digital Papers – Holly Jolly – Lliella- www.sweetshoppedesigns.com
Sentiment – Computer generated
Martha Stewart border punch
Ribbons, brown gems and angel charm - Meiflower

On my second card I used three sets of Angel Wings as the main embellishment.

Digital Papers – Happy Holidays – www.sweetshoppedesigns.com
Wording computer generated
Ribbon, Angel charm and Angel wings – Meiflower

Both cards contain pretty little enamelled angel charms, with diamante wings, which Meiflower sell in various colours including red, white and blue as well as the pink.

Thanks for popping by today,
hugs,

Pyramage

I love to add layers to my card image, and generally do it either by layering up another copy of the image usually with a small white border, or using my favourite method, which is decoupage. Not everyone, likes the intricate cutting that can be involved in this, (the ladies who come to my card class aren't too keen on decoupage), so pyramage is a much easier way of adding some depth to your card without all the fussy cutting, and that's exactly how the depth has been achieved on this particular card.

Kit used - Primitive Christmas Tree - Paper Creator
Kraft card blank and matching envelope
Spare Kraft card
Border - Nellie Snellen MFD023 Border 2
Ribbon and Charm - Meiflower

I printed out the matching envelope front, cut off the top flap and attached it to the Kraft envelope with double sided tape.

Will be back tomorrow with a couple more cards,
See you then
hugs,
Colette xx
