A challenge, a hospital stay and Ray Quinn

Finally managed to get a blog post done, my daughter Meg was admitted to hospital on Thursday 4th June and was only discharged at the end of last week, she had a gastro-intestinal bleed, which showed itself by Meg having vomiting and diarrhoea which turned into old brown blood pouring from both ends. She had lost so much blood, she needed a blood transfusion. She also had high temperature spikes and a very fast heart rate, so ended up with IV antibiotics, a heart monitor, a couple of ECG's and an echo cardiogram, all of that as well as a CT scan of her tummy and a camera down her throat to try and find where the blood was coming from.
She is doing fine now, her haemoglobin count is back where it should be and we have some follow up appointments with gastro, cardiology and gynae (the CT scan showed up a cyst on her left ovary). They never found the cause of the bleed, so fingers crossed it has healed itself and she will be back to full health soon.
Eric and I were going in every day from 7.30am and staying with her until 9.30/10pm, coming home, getting all the things sorted that we needed for the next day and then falling into bed around midnight. It's amazing how tired you get sitting around all day, we are all still feeling a little tired.

The whole time she was in hospital all she wanted to do was get better and get out in time to go and see Ray Quinn (here and here are a couple of her fave youtube vids), who was doing a show at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on Sunday June 14th, she absolutely loves him, so it was brilliant that she was well enough to go, and to really make her day, she got to meet him at the end of the show and have her photo taken with him. She was absolutely thrilled when he greeted her with" hello darlin'!", she keeps telling everyone she sees that he called her darling LOL!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter and this time around our theme is
now that couldn't be any easier could it? and there are great prizes up for grabs! If you are our randomly selected winner and play with a TPS image then you have a chance of winning a $30 gift certificate, any other image and you will win three digis of your choice.

I used the gorgeous Make A Wish digital stamp, she is actually sitting on a tree stump, but had been there so long she was getting a bit of a sore bottom, so I liberated her from the tree before I printed out the image and she is now resting on some supersoft organza ribbon LOL!

Oooh Colette.... I'm LOVING this fabulous fairy creation...... and that pink goes so very well with the yellow.... who'd have thought it??

And I'm really glad to hear that Meg is doing good now....... she did go through it while she was poorly and I'm glad you kept me in touch with how she was doing. But she did have a target to get better for didn't she? ....... what better target than meeting Ray Quinn? Tell her I'm jealous!!

Big hugs

Dear Colette, you have been running running running and should not have worried about getting your DT card done while trying to be at the hospital for your daughter! She is in my prayers as I have a daughter who is not feeling well and I know how it is to be a mom and want to take care and fix the loves in our lives.

This card is just gorgeous. Outlining this beautiful fairy really makes her jump off the card. I don't know how you colored her wings under the glitter, but these are the best wings I've ever seen. The colors of hot pink and yellow were a fabulous choice. This is just beautiful and you and your daughter are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs, Gail
