Over the Hill!

Today I have another pop out box card to show you, this time for one of my DT friends. Kirsty-Anne celebrated her 40th birthday on Tuesday, and although my card was a little late getting there, (it wasn't posted until Tuesday, my holiday put me a bit behind) I hope she liked it.

I used an old Clipart Fairy kit called Over the Hill 2

I printed the car and numbers both regular and flipped and stuck them together, so that you could see the design from both the front and back.

It's a Pirate's life for me!

At the weekend we went to my friend's grandsons first birthday party, the party was pirate themed, with a pirate bouncy castle, pirate goody bags, pirate games and all the kids (and some adults) dressed as pirates. My grandsons had a lovely time, Will and the bigger kids had swords and there was a lot of swashbuckling going on, and Charlie was just happy crawling around the floor, sitting on the bouncy castle and playing with the toys.

I made Oscar a pop out box pirate card using Nitwits Land Ho kit, and made up a little verse for the back.

and here's a pic of Will and Charlie in their pirate gear.

I will have another pop out box on Friday, this time using a Clipart Fairy kit.

Hugs,
Colette xx

Teddy Bo Tuesday

Well here I am back from my holidays, we enjoyed a lovely week in a little place called Sandhead, on the South West coast of Scotland. We were really lucky with the weather, because although it rained every day, it was usually early morning and evening, when we were out and about during the day we mostly had glorious  sunshine.
On Sunday I popped into the Leigh craft show for half an hour and then straight off to a Pirate party with my grandsons, then yesterday I had visitors and only just managed to get today's card made.

We are halfway through the Teddy Bo challenge, which this time around is
Black, White and one other colour
I decided to use aqua as my other colour.

Wedding Invitation Samples day 7

Well it's finally arrived the final day of my Wedding Invitation samples. The two I will be showing you today are my daughters favourites, although she also really liked the two black and cream ones. One of today's was probably the easiest and quickest to make and the other was definitely the longest and hardest and wouldn't you know that's the one that is her absolute favourite.

As this is a scheduled post, hopefully I've had a lovely holiday and am home rested and raring to go LOL! Today I am off to the Sincerely Yours craft show at Leigh (where you can see all my wedding invitation samples in real life, they look so much better than the pics) and straight from there to my friend Donna's grandsons first birthday party, Aaarrrr me hearties! (pirate themed LOL!)

Hopefully I will be back on Tuesday with Teddy Bo.

Teddy Bo Tuesday and Wedding Invitation Samples day 2

As I am on my holidays in the beautiful South West of Scotland at the moment, my Teddy Bo card once again this week doesn't fit in with the latest challenge, which this week is
Black, White and one other Colour
but it is the first Teddy Bo card I have made for quite a few weeks, as my shoulder is definitely on the mend now, and I just loved the image when it came out last week and I've had the idea for the card swimming around in my head since I saw it so I just had to make it.

Some of you may remember my original pop out box which I designed in 2011,( if not you can check it out here), well I decided to make a  fancier version of it for the beautiful ballerina Bea.

Here's a view from the side showing the ballet shoes dangling from the arch.

I re-sized the arch and Bea and used the same kit as above to make a simpler square card too.
All details are the same as the pop out box.

and also here is day 2 of the wedding invitations.

Cute

Have you seen the latest Crafters Companion CD Morehead Papercrafting Collection, it is full of cute, cute Morehead images. I have always loved Morehead stuff, but have only been able to pick up odd decoupage sheets in the past, this double CD has loads of gorgeous images and designs to work with and as soon as I got it I just had to have a play with it.
As I have been having problems with my shoulders etc., and they finally feel like they are starting to get better I didn't want to do too much, so ended up printing off a few of the shaped cards, an extra image for layering, sentiments and background designs.

I had my hubby punching the edges of the background papers for me, (as I can't quite manage it myself at the moment), and then made the cards up adding ribbons, pearls and such like to finish off.

Images, papers and sentiments - Morehead Papercrafting Collection CD
All ribbons, Pearls and Gems - Meiflower
Charm - Stash
Various Border punches.

Aren't the images gorgeous?

Starting tomorrow we will have a week of Wedding Invitation samples

See you soon,

Engaged!

We're off on our holidays today, so as you are reading this we will be somewhere on the M6 heading to Scotland.
We stay in a fab little complex of 4 completely disabled accessible bungalows, right on the coast at Luce Bay. The scenery is beautiful, just fabulous sea views wherever you look and very quiet and untouristy?!!!!(not sure that's a real word LOL!) Pure heaven!.
It is quite a long journey, so we always stop off at Gretna Green for lunch, then Cream o' Gallway Ice Cream farm for a delicious ice cream sundae, mid afternoon, before finally arriving and getting settled in for the evening.

Today I have an engagement card for a friends son and girlfriend, they always put six red kisses in their cards and letters to each other, and when he surprised her with the proposal, he actually presented her with a Haribo Jelly ring, until they could go out and buy the real thing, so of course I decided to make that an integral part of their card.
At the same time I also made a less personal version of the same card as a sample for Mei.

The Jelly ring is in an acetate envelope.

I'm soooo sorry....

...I haven't been around for a while, I am having some problems with my neck, shoulder and hands. I've been suffering for a couple of years, but the last few months it has gotten worse and over the last couple of weeks I was barely able to move one of my arms. The hospital say it is strain, from looking after Meg, my youngest daughter who is disabled. I have spent 22 years pulling, pushing and rolling her around to wash, dress, shower and toilet her and it is finally taking a toll. Apart from painkillers, rest and some physio there is not much they can do for me.

Anyway that's enough moaning from me, I haven't made any cards for a couple of weeks (resting my shoulder) and am on holiday next week so I am going to show some cards that I had already made but not yet blogged throughout this week and then next week, while I am on holiday, I will schedule some posts to show you some Wedding invitation samples that Mei asked me to make for her stall.

Today is Teddy Bo Tuesday and the current challenge is Distress It and is being hosted by team B, as I haven't been able to make any cards recently my card does not follow the challenge but is one I made a while ago for a friend's husband.

Green Geisha

We are halfway through our Monochrome challenge over at D'Arcy's Diaries and this week I have gone with a green theme and used one of my favourite images - Geisha.

My daughter Stacy loved this card when she saw it and as it's her birthday today (Happy Birthday Stace) I thought it would be perfect for her.
