Happy Times!

It's team B's turn to host the challenge at The Paper Shelter this week and this time around the theme is...
We would love you to share your masculine creations with us.
You don't have to use a Paper Shelter image, but if you do you could win a $30 gift certificate to spend in store, if you use any other image you will still win your choice of 3 digi images from the store.

I have had this idea for a card shape in my mind for quite some time now and my original thoughts were to cut two strips of card one for each side and hold them together through the middle with a die cut frame front and back, but then I realised that it didn't really have to be that complicated I could cut the top and bottom sections away leaving a panel through the middle -  for want of a better name I am going to call it an H card, as that is the shape of the card blank.
I picked one of the fabby images from the Happy Times  Mega pack, which has 3 boy images to choose from.

Digital Stamp - Happy Times Mega Pack - The Paper Shelter
Papers and arrows - Wet 'n' wild - Crazy 4 Monograms
Sentiment - computer generated
Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Ovals die
Spellbinders Labels 10 die
Ribbon and buttons - Meiflower

I am entering the following challenges
Crafting for all seasons - #78 Boys will be boys
Paper Pretties - #312 Masculine/Fathers day
Wags 'n Whiskers - #129 One for the Boys
Hiding in my Craft Room - #150 Boy
Suzy Bee's Bloomin - #30 One of the Guys Big or Small
Die Cuttin' Diva's - #167 For the Boys
Party Time Tuesdays - #174 Anything Goes

Champagne glasses anniversary card

I mentioned in my last post that I was off to see the Lion King with my friend Julie and that it was her wedding anniversary on the same day, well I made her a card and forgot to take it with me, which is typical of me! so I ended up having to drop it off the next day, I really am a numpty LOL!

The Lion King was spectacular and a definite must see, the costumes were stunning and the whole thing was awe-inspiring, we were only three rows from the stage and that close it was totally amazing.

Here's Julie's card, I kept it quite clean and simple as I was going for a more elegant look than my usual, in your face, bursting with colour look, so just used some different shades of white card, an embossing folder, border punch, champagne glass die and a tiny bit of ivory card.

Couture Creations - Intrinsic Embossing folder
Gems - Meiflower

I am going to enter the following challenges -

Addicted to CAS -  must be CAS - #39 Texture
Less Is More -  must be CAS - #173 Die Cut

QKR Stampede – #89 - Clean and Simple

White Daisies Jumbled Pyramage

I've been very busy this week and managed to make a total of 7 cards, (including the one I posted on Wednesday), I've taken photos of the remaining 6 this morning, but the weather is miserable here and I haven't checked them yet to see how they look.

This evening I'm off to see The Lion King at the Liverpool Empire, I booked the tickets last April so have been looking forward to it for quite a while, my daughter Stacy and grandson Will are coming along, as well as my friend Julie, her hubby and daughter Alison, it's Julie and Dave's 34th wedding anniversary today, which is why we are letting Dave come along to what is normally a girl's only night out hehe!
I'm already singing Hakuna Matata LOL!

Here's a card I made last weekend using a kit from Paper Creator called White Daisy, it's a 6x6 square card with jumbled pyramage layers, it also has a matching envelope and box - there are a few sentiments included and a blank panel if you want to add your own, which is what I have done, it also follows the theme of our current challenge which is Flowers and Bows and if you want to play along you still have a week to get your entries in.

White Daisy 6x6 card kit - Paper Creator
X-cut palm punches - Daisy - large, medium and small
Ribbon and Pearls - Meiflower

Last October I bought a load of All Dressed Up digi stamps, I immediately set to and coloured three of them up with another one half coloured (still) and then I had other stuff to do that took priority and they were left languishing on my hard drive, coloured but unused. Woohoo! final wedding invitations samples of the year

Yaaaaaaayyyyyyy! we are finally at the end of the wedding invitations samples, here are the last two for this year numbers 15 and 16.
As I explained at the start of the wedding invitation sample posts, as part of my DT work for Meiflower I make some wedding invitation samples for her to display on her stall as she travels around the craft shows, I never really plan to make more than 10, but for the last couple of years I have ended up with 16, I originally planned to post them one at a time, but it just seemed to drag on and on so the last few posts I have doubled up so that I can finally get through them.

I embossed some pearl paper I found in my stash box and mounted it onto silver mirri card, I die cut the letters from the mirri card and decorated them with stick on AB gems, then, added a charm to a split ring and slid it onto the silver satin ribbon, fixing across the front before fixing the whole thing to a card blank.

Embossing folder - Embossalicious 6x6 Floral Frenzy
Die cut letters - Splendid Alphabet - Lifestyle (no longer available)
Ribbon, gems and charm - Meiflower

This card has a border punched from Kraft card, overlaid with organza ribbon and then a further strip of card printed with wording. The heart design was printed onto card before adding a button with Metallic cord. The cord was looped over the border before it was stuck in place. I added a big organza bow finished off with another button tied with cord.

Tonic geared border punch - Baroque border
Font - Jellyka - Love and Passion - dafont.com
Ribbon, buttons, metallic cord - Meiflower

Thanks for stopping by and bearing with me through all 16 wedding invitation samples,

Pop Out Presents!

I really wanted to show you this Mega bundle from Paper Creator while it was still on offer.
You get a whopping 20 ready to print pop out kits for only £5 - now that's what I call a bargain!
The cards in the kit cover a variety of occasions, including Christmas, Birthday, Graduation, Love and Halloween and each kit also includes decoupage layers for the card front and a matching envelope.

I have made up four of the cards from the mega bundle, I've decoupaged the fronts and then spent a bit of time decorating the inside of each one, wrapping ribbon around the parcels and embellishing with die-cuts, charms and gems.

I've numbered them up so that you can easily match the inside with the front.

White on White Wedding card

I have scheduled this post for today even though I came back from my little holiday yesterday, as I will be having my final lie-in before Meg comes home from respite and we are back to having to get up 2 or 3 times a night for toileting and turning.

I made this card mainly because I wanted to have a play with a new punch, embossing folder and dies that have recently been added to my collection.
I went for a white on white card with just a little touch of silver (rings and ribbon edge).
The "diamond" in the ring was die cut from white pearl card and then covered with glamour dust to add a bit of sparkle. The rings are cut from stardust silver glitter card, the embossed background was made with Centura pearl card and the little rolled roses were made by using an X-cut large circle palm punch, cutting a spiral into them and rolling up.

Deckled edge card blank- Craft Creations
Centura Pearl Fresh White card - Craft Creations
Embossalicious A4 folder - Gothic Script
Little B's - Hearts die set

Acceptance card

My daughter asked me to make a wedding acceptance card to give to her friend, she told me her friend was putting them all up on her Facebook page and so she wanted the one she sent to be a bit different from all the shop bought ones. I had seen the original invitation so knew that the colour scheme was peach and I wanted to make it more modern and fun than traditional, this was what I came up with.

Peach pearl paper - stash
Memory box - Chesapeake circle
Ribbon Heart Corner - La La Land die
X cut palm punch - flower head medium and small
Ribbons, crystals and diamante slider - Meiflower

Nicola put it on her Facebook page saying that she had received lots of lovely cards, but this one was extra-special  and that she couldn't wait to see the wedding card if that was the acceptance card - I need to get my thinking cap on LOL!

Backpack Max Quick Card

Hopefully as you are reading this, hubby and myself are on our way to Swansea for a nice break. Meg is in respite until next Friday so we decided to take ourselves off for a little holiday. We weren't expecting to go quite so far but when booking the accommodation, yesterday afternoon,  I got my Caernarfons and Carmarthens mixed up and ended up with a 4 hour drive instead of a 2 hour drive LOL!

I have scheduled a few posts for the week, all wedding cards of one sort or another, there is an invitation, an acceptance card and a wedding card, so I think I have covered everything.

For today I have another card made using Paper Creators Backpack Max ultimate kit. As well as papers, the Sassy Cheryl illustration, and other bits and pieces the kit also contains a 6 x 6 inch ready to print card, which was very useful as I only remembered yesterday morning that I didn't have a card made for the weekend and we had decided to go away.
printed out the pages and quickly put a card together.

Wedding Invitation samples #10 and 11

Two invitations today, one black and white the other navy and cream, both in a more traditional style.

I matted white card onto black card, cutting a small rectangle from the bottom right of the white card, added wide black satin ribbon, across the card and topped it with white silver edged ribbon and a black silver edged ribbon bow, both silver edged ribbons were threaded through the diamond shaped ribbon slider before being fixed to the card blank. I printed the names and cut them out with a small rectangle die adding gems either side to fill the space.

I matted a square of navy pearl card onto cream card and then punched a border from some more cream card - I die cut various sized squares from cream and navy card and layered them up with foam pads, turned them to make a diamond shape and  arranged some in the centre of the navy panel finishing off with the couples names and a couple in the centre of the cream strip, I threaded ribbon through the diamante ribbon slider, fixed the ribbon in place over the punched strip and then added it the strip to the right hand edge of the card.

Black, cream and pearl card from Craft Creations
Gems, ribbon slider and ribbons from Meiflower

Five more to go and I will probably double them up from now on to get through them, they seem to have been dragging on for ages.
