Well here I am, I've finally managed to get back to blogging, it's been a tough seven months, and it's taken me a while to get any sort of interest back, I am still struggling to colour, (although I have done a few images recently) but I feel like the time is right to get back on the horse, so to speak.
A big thank you to everyone who left such lovely comments on my last post, they all made me cry but it was really lovely of people to take the time.
I have been doing a little bit of card making since the beginning of the year, some wedding invitation samples for Meiflower and also some blingy cards too, but no colouring as I just couldn't get motivated for it, although I have finally done a couple over the last month.
I also have quite a few cards that I did for magazine commissions, last year, before Meg passed away, that I haven't got round to blogging yet, as well as a couple with images I had coloured, so plenty to keep my going while I get myself sorted.
I found comfort in my crocheting, when I struggled to colour and make cards, and have managed to make half a dozen baby blankets, even more scarves and a couple of shawls. The scarves have all gone to good homes, and a couple of the baby blankets have found their way to friends of my daughter who are expecting, the rest are folded up and being stored safely at the moment as I don't actually know enough pregnant people to give them to, and I am still crocheting more LOL!
Anyway, I thought I would blog a couple of the cards I did for Meiflower, to get me back into the swing of things, and I have the April Paper Creator challenge coming up on the first of April.
Sizzix Framelits Hearts #2
Glitter card
Organza and metallic ribbons (once laid inside the other) and diamanté ribbon slider - Meiflower
X-cut flower punches - small and medium
Sizzix heart die 657561
Pearls - Meiflower
Apologies for rubbish photo, taken on a really dull and miserable day.
For this card I used letters from various fonts and put them together to make up the sentiment which I printed straight onto white card in a very pale grey colour, I then painstakingly added each gem, using the outline as a template (very therapeutic). I matted this onto silver mirri card, added Meiflower ribbon and diamante ribbon slider and then fixed the whole thing onto a cerise 6x6 card.
Thanks for stopping by,
see you again soon,
hugs,
Colette xx
