Teddy Bo Tuesday Challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at Teddy Bo today and this time around our theme is -
You need to use a Teddy Bo image to play along and could be in with the chance of winning a fabulous ten images of your choice from the Teddy Bo and Co store.

The image I've used was drawn specially for me, as it is my Grandson Charlie's 3rd birthday on 6th November and he loves Mini's - they have to be red, because that's his favourite colour.
I have used a bit of artistic license to colour in some of the details so that the image matches the
ride-in Mini Cooper he is getting for his birthday.

Image - TeddyBo_257
Papers - Boy Thing and Speed Racer - Crazy 4 Monograms
Sizzix nesting star dies
Ribbon and Pearls - Meiflower

A big thank you to Gayle for the fabulous image, it's just perfect.

Here's a pic of the young man himself, I was looking after him one day a couple of weeks ago, he was on his laptop and I was working on the computer, when I suddenly thought to myself, he's very quiet, what on earth is he up to now, I turned around and saw this - he was fast asleep, standing up!!!
He has a leopard print fleecy blankie, that goes everywhere with him and when it's in the wash he uses his mum's dressing gown, which is what he is snuggled up to here.

Tis the Season pop up box

Today I have one of the pop up boxes from The Paper Creator Mega Christmas pop up box bundle to show you, still half price at the moment, 10 pop up box kits for only £5!
I love making up these boxes, they are soooo easy and yet look so impressive, and the kit contains everything you need including a matching envelope. I added a couple of punched holly leaves, snowflakes, pearls, glitter and a small die-cut poinsettia and it was done.

Tis the Season Pop up box kit - Christmas pop up box Mega kit - The Paper Creator
X-cut snow crystal punches large and medium
X-cut holly sprig punch
Marianne Creatables small poinsettia die
Pearls - Meiflower

Somehow or other I managed to print the topper sheet twice, so I decided to make up a couple of cards, just using scrap card and paper I had in my scrap box, I think they show just how versatile these kits are. I will share them with you next weekend.

Hope you are having a great weekend,

Engagement Card

I've been missing in action for most of this week, lots of stuff going on, including yet another theatre visit, a trip to the cinema and out for a couple of meals, my social life such as it is, is either all or nothing LOL!

We went to see Gone Girl on Wednesday, I had read the book ages ago and really enjoyed it, although I had figured out the twist almost immediately, it was nice to see it all come to life on the big screen. I thought they had done a good job too, because it was very similar to the book, a couple of characters missed out, but no-one too important, and all done very well.
Thursday it was off to the Empire Theatre again, this time to see The Full Monty, not a musical for a change, but a proper play, it was really well done, full of humour and sadness, much like the film, a great cast and brilliant ending.
Once again I went with my daughter Stacy and my friend and her daughter Alison. Alison has recently got engaged and I wanted to make her a card, but with everything going on I just haven't had the time, so yesterday I quickly coloured up my favourite image for engagement cards and made a quick CAS card, with a Gift Card holder inside.

Centura pearl double sided card - Craft Creations
Joy Crafts Lattice heart
Diamante heart topper - Meiflower

Well that's all from me today, I'll be back over the weekend with a Paper Creator Christmas Pop-up box,

Pink or Blue with Buttons

How are you today? I'm off to The Liverpool Empire theatre to see Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat with my daughter Meg this afternoon, this will be the 14th time I have seen it, the 13th being only a couple of days ago on Thursday LOL!
Now I do love it, obviously, or I wouldn't have seen it so many times, but I don't usually see it twice in one week. When we originally decided to book Meg didn't want to come, then a few days later she decided she did, because we need a wheelchair space for Meg we couldn't add her on to our Thursday booking, hence my second show today, not that I'm complaining hehe!

It's time for a new challenge over at Paper Creator today and this time around the theme is
You don't have to use Paper Creator products to take part, but if you do, you get a second entry into the random draw to win a £10 gift certificate to spend in store.

Not my usual sort of card

A few weeks ago I saw and fell in love with the gorgeous Flower Maiden images from A Day for Daisies, I purchased them all and set about making a card, somehow or other I went off on a completely different tangent from my normal card-making style, and this is what I ended up with.
I wasn't sure about it, but it has received lots of lovely compliments from visitors who had spotted it sitting on my mantelpiece among the other cards I've made recently, so I thought I would finally get it blogged.
I layered up papers, and wording from the digital kit I used, before printing and adding to the card front, I coloured up the flower maiden and then fussy cut her, shaped her a little and fixed to card with foam pads, then I punched stars from black glitter card, and that was it - all done.

Digital Stamp - Flower Maiden 1 - A Day for Daisies
Papers and wording - Journal your art out - CAH_NRJ Designs (retired)

Chalkboard Christmas

The sun is cracking the flags as I am typing this, but the weather man has forecast rain and possible thunderstorms for later today, hey-ho, you've gotta love the British weather.
I'm off to the theatre tonight to see Wicked, I read the book years ago, so it will be good to see it all come to life, well what I can remember of it anyway LOL!

I've got a Christmas Chalkboard card to show you today, the easel comes from a Clipart Fairy kit, the wording was found on Google and it's been simply decorated, with lots of punched foliage. The reverse of the card looks like a cork board and has a little piece of notepaper pinned to it for writing your message (forgot to take photo)

Chalkboard Easel - Chalk it up kit - The Clipart Fairy
Wording - Google search
Foliage - Martha Stewart branch punch, X-cut Holly sprig punch and Carl punch Forest Fern
Ribbon and Pearls - Meiflower

Hope you have a lovely weekend,

A card for a baby girl

Firstly I'd like to wish my youngest daughter Meg a very happy birthday, I know she often comes on and checks out my blog when she is trawling the internet, so Happy Birthday Sweetie!, she will be 24 today, which makes me feel ancient as she is my baby LOL!

Here's a card I made a few weeks ago, I fell in love with the digi stamp after seeing it used on THIS card on Christine's blog, so off I went to the store where it fell into my basket along with some other cuties!

Image- Night night LIttle One - All Dressed Up
Papers - Grin and Bear it - Nitwit Collections
Billie's circle die - Joy Crafts
Shoes - Marianne Creatables LR0303
Memory Box - Library alphabet tags
Ribbon and pearls - Meiflower
Button and Twine - Stash

I mentioned in my last post that hubby and I had been out for Afternoon tea to a posh and very high (34th floor) restaurant on the Liverpool waterfront as part of our Silver wedding anniversary present from my daughter Stacy, well here are a few pics of the view from our table.

along the waterfront from the Liver buildings and through the Albert Dock

Looking inland, with the Catholic cathedral to the far left, the Anglican cathedral to the far right and St John's beacon standing tall.

The ferry cross the Mersey, coming into the Pier head
(bet it looks a bit different from your days Christine)

this was presented to us by our waitress, what a lovely gesture!

Well that's the lot folks,
off to celebrate Meg's birthday with cake and wine, mmm yummy!

Thanks for visiting,

Santa Claus Easel Gift Box

I had a lovely afternoon out with my hubby yesterday, at the Panoramic 34 restaurant, down near the Liverpool waterfront. Stacy had booked us afternoon tea there as part of our Silver wedding anniversary present, but as we were away for our anniversary, so she had booked it for this weekend.
She dropped us off and picked us up, so all we had to do was make the most of a couple of hours of free time.
The restaurant is on the 34th floor of a 38 floor apartment block, so the views were spectacular, we took loads of photo's and I will share some of the with you in my next post. The afternoon tea was delicious and we had a relaxing couple of hours.

Today I have an Easel card gift box to show you, made from The Paper Creator Christmas Easel Gift Boxes Mega Kit. There are 10 different designs in the mega kit, and at the moment it is on sale for only £5.
Each kit comes with a matching box, which holds the gift box, the top of the gift box is an easel card, and when you open the box, you pull out a little drawer that will hold a small gift.

I decided to make up the Santa Claus box.

I added a punched border to both the easel card and drawer front, as well as some pearls and a cord bow, I also used the cord to make a small handle for the drawer and another bow for the gift tag, which also comes in the kit.

Thanks for dropping in and taking a look
