Ballet Shoes

Another quickie from me today as still trying to catch up. I have a couple of cards made from the same Paper Creator kit called Ballet Shoes Shaped Card Kit.

The first card is made up as it should be, with a few added embellishments and lots of glitter ( I glittered each of the white stripes on the card front, around both edges of the frame and the sentiment), but for the second card I used the inserts page and printed it out onto card. When I cut them out I kept the narrow white section, between the pieces, on the right hand insert, scored down the card edge and folded the white section back to make a flap. After cutting out the circle from inside the frame, I added tape to the flap and stuck it to the back of the second insert to make up the card. I decoupaged the shoes just the same, as they fit nicely into the aperture when the card is closed, once again added lots of glitter and a big flower.

Shabby chic or just plain shabby?!?!?!?

It's time for our summer holidays over at the Paper Shelter this week, we are still having a challenge, but it's a joint challenge for both teams and will run for two weeks, during that time we won't be doing any commenting 'cos we will be too busy being on our holidays LOL!

As well as doing fabulous, super-cute digi stamps the Paper Shelter also does some yummy digital paper packs, and for a change I thought that I would make a card using just papers - I used papers from two different packs - Two shades of Romance and In the 20's

I thought the Romance papers were quite shabby chic so decided rather foolishly to go for that style of card, now I have to say right here and now that Shabby Chic is not really my thing, but I'm always up for a challenge so I gave it a go. I very lightly coloured in part of the design on one of my Romance papers and used the other to make the flower.

Here it is - not sure if it's too shabby or not shabby enough and as for the chic, well let's just say it's possibly in there somewhere, just not sure where LOL!

Happy Birdie to you!

Hi there, hope you've had a lovely, relaxing and enjoyable weekend, I have busy trying to get on top of things, and was starting to feel like I could see a light at the end of the tunnel, until I spent most of yesterday in the local walk-in centre with my hubby, it seems he either has a kidney infection or kidney stones, he's been given a course of antibiotics, but has to go straight to A&E if he starts to feel worse in himself or the pain worsens. Fingers crossed it is the lesser of two evils.

Today I have a card to show you made with a freebie digi stamp drawn by Tori Beveridge and available from her blog Cruzines.blogspot.com. The image I've used is called All the little birdies, - there are quite a few other "Crudoodles" scattered around the site and I will have a card to show you on Friday that uses another of  her images.

For A Child

Hi there, another quick post today - still trying to catch up with myself.

We have a new challenge over at Paper Creator today and this time around the theme is 

For a Child

The randomly selected winner receives a £10 gift certificate to spend in store and you don't need to use Paper Creator products to enter, but if you do you get a second entry into the draw.

As I am so pushed for time at the moment it was great to be able to just print out and make up a kit, I had the whole thing put together in no time at all and that included making up the matching envelope.

I used a fab kit called Draw, Cut and Paste Gate fold card kit, which is perfect for any children you know who love to craft. The decoupaged craft supplies go over the edge of the offset gate fold, and the kit even includes reversed decoupage so that when you open the card you see the same image as on the front, but in reverse. I finished it off with some ribbon from Meiflower and a star shaped button from my stash.

Con-grad-ulations!

Corny I know : -) but just wanted to quickly pop on and say a big congratulations to my daughters partner Neill on his graduation today, he's worked so hard and done really well, we are all extremely proud of him. I just about managed to get him a card made and it was a very quick one - It's been absolutely hectic here for the last week or so and I think next week will be the same, I'm definitely meeting myself going back LOL! It's just non-stop at the moment, last time I checked my emails my junk folder was up to about 255!!! will have to find the time to sit down and sort through them very soon, just don't know when it's going to happen, just about keeping on top of my inbox and my poor blog has been dreadfully neglected.

here's my quickie card, only made it last night so had to take photo with daylight lamp.

The paper with wording on came from a digital pack from AMB illustrations on Etsy called Grad Papers Pack, it comes in white with black writing and black with white writing, so I had to play around with it in Photoshop to get the blue background, The congratulations circle was a freebie from scrap-a-licious-times.blogspot.co.uk and the cap digi image was also a freebie I had picked up quite a while ago, but I can't remember where from. I used Lifestyle scallop circles and plain circles dies and added a bit of polka dot satin ribbon from Meiflower.

Great Gatsby Girl

Quite a few months ago (October last year) I purchased some digi stamps from Time for Tea and, as usual with me, never got around to colouring them up. A couple of weeks ago I came across the folder again and decided that I was going to use at least one, and the one I chose was Great Gatsby Girl, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be available in store any more. I had also recently purchased a set of digi papers called Pretty as a Peacock, which used my favourite colour combo, and was desperate to use them, so I decided to pair the two together.

After colouring up the image I was really pleased with the way she turned out, (I even turned her headband feather into a peacock feather) so I used an 8 inch square card blank because I wanted to keep the image as large as possible.

I die cut some spellbinders borders, and used some art-deco elements to make up the frame around the image and sentiment.

Handsome Max

This handsome little chap is a Sassy Cheryl illustration available over at Paper Creator, when I planned the card I printed out an extra image as I was intending to layer one over the other, but then my hubby came into my craft room and suggested (told me he didn' think I would be able to (red rag to a bull LOL!)   make a second card with all the leftover bits of paper and the image. Of course I had to prove him wrong, so the second card is made with the leftovers from the first card. I actually used almost every scrap of leftover paper  from the first card, even using the narrow little strips left from trimming the papers for decoration.

Thank You Teacher

It's not long now until the kids break up for the summer holidays so I thought it was time to get my grandsons thank you teacher card sorted. My friend told me about a backpack containing a card available at The Clipart Fairy's store so I popped over to take a look. I ended up buying the ready to print kit, printed it out and made it up, showed it to Will the next day and the response was - ooooh that's good, but could you do it in pink, I have a lady teacher and pink one would be better, I checked out the store again, but could only find the blue one, so I took it into Photoshop and tweaked the colour to make him his pink one.

The backpack holds a matching card and there is room to add a bar of chocolate or some sweets too.

For the boy version I just cut some narrow strips of card and made loops for the straps to go through and used some star dies and punches to decorate the card.

On the girl version I dug out a memory box buckle die that I had forgotten I had, and die cut the buckles from silver card, I also personalised the card with the teachers name and added an A+ graphic from a digi scrap kit called ABCDEFun by lliella at Sweet Shoppe Designs.

I gave the blue version to my sister for her son's teacher, so it didn't go to waste.

Celebrate in Style

Can you believe it's July already? where are the month's going to? the year is half over and we are closer to this Christmas than we are to last Christmas, oh well, at least the sun is shining - at the moment!

I've got a mad busy week this week, with lots going on including working on a nine card commission for a magazine and a funeral, so this is just a really quick post to show off another card using one of the Wear With Style girls from All dressed up.
