Wedding invitation #2

Today I have another simple design to show you, the simpler the better if you have to make a lot and this one is quite quick to put together. I love the blingy embellishment on this one.

White pearl card – Anna MarieDesigns
Glittered Vellum – DoCrafts Spring Floral – The Range
Dusky Pink and white satin ribbon and Diamante Square – Meiflower

The glittered vellum is sooo pretty and sparkly the photo really doesn't do it justice.

Thanks for taking a look,
see you tomorrow for a Wedding Day Card,
then back on Friday with the next wedding invitation.
hugs,

Wedding invitation samples #1

A couple of months ago I was asked by a very good friend if I could design some wedding invitation samples for her, she wanted to make them herself, but didn't really know what she wanted, there was no specific colours, all she really wanted was some bling, for example, a diamante ribbon slider or similar diamante embellishment.
I ended up making 17 samples for her, most of them I've kept quite simple as I know what a chore it can be to make up the same card over and over and how long it takes if there is a lot of complicated cutting, punching, die-cutting etc., (although I did throw a few more complicated ones into the mix).
Anyway she has chosen the design she is going to use and I can now show you the other sixteen. If things go well I am hoping to post one card a day (in between DT work) over the next couple of weeks.

The names and dates, were added after the cards were finished but under normal circumstances I would have printed them straight onto the card before cutting and folding.

Here is sample no.1
White Pearl Card - Anna Marie Designs
Glittered card - Ebay
Silver ribbon and diamante ribbon slider - Meiflower

This is a quick and easy design and the glittered floral card gives it an extra blingy touch.

Thanks for stopping by,
see you tomorrow with no.2

Bow Crazy

It's time for another challenge over on the My Besties challenge blog, this time around it's Team A's turn and our theme is
so show us your creations using a My Besties image and Bows to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in store.

I was playing around with a square piece of card and thought I'd use a corner die in each corner and see what it would look like, then I decided to cut a fancy shape from the middle, I was quite happy with the effect, but then it occurred to me that I could cut a shape from each of the areas between the corners, so out came a heart die ,the hearts were die cut and I was left with a quite ornate frame.

Hangin' Around

Have you ever had one of those days were you wish you had never gotten out of bed, well I've had one of those weeks, which started Monday when my computer decided to go doo-lally and I lost 8 hours worth of work!!! It was all downhill from there, although some of the distractions were quite enjoyable, family visiting for hubbies birthday, meal out for hubbies birthday (see not all bad LOL!) but I have been chasing my tail all week, which is why my poor blog has been sadly neglected. I couldn't even find a bit of spare time to do a post.
I've made 16 wedding invitation samples recently, as well as a wedding card and a couple of Christmas cards, and they are all in the queue waiting for their moment to shine - haha! Hopefully I can get some of them posted during this next week.

Today is the start of the next challenge over at Paper Creator and this time around the theme is -
Just Bears
To be in with the chance of winning £10 to spend in store then just show us your bear cards, you don't have to use Paper Creator products, but if you do you get a second entry into the draw.

I used a gorgeous Sassy Cheryl image called Hanging Out to Dry, and even though I didn't have much time, - me being me - decided to try something a little different with my card and so spent more time than I really had, trying to make an idea come together.

Just a little Hello!

A little later than usual, but here is my Saturday Paper Creator card, I forgot to schedule it last night and had a busy day today, but finally found a bit of time to sit and blog.

I love Sassy Cheryl images and have quite a few of her digi stamps in my collection, but I don't often have the time to colour them up so these pre-coloured illustrations from Paper Creator are perfect for getting a quick Sassy fix now and then.

Baby Girl's First Birthday

Wow, how fantastic has the weather been for the last couple of weeks, and with promises of a couple more to go we've finally got a summer woohoo!  It's been around 30C on our patio for the last couple of days, although it is South facing, and a bit of a sun trap, the local radio station is only reporting the temperatures at 24/25C so you can see how much hotter it gets in our garden. The maddest thing is that I have just started to put together some Christmas card samples!, Christmas cards in this heat, totally nuts!!!

Anyway, here is a first birthday card I made a couple of weeks ago for my friends grandaughter.

Digital Stamp - Baby Balloon Girl - Redonkadoodles (coloured in Photoshop)
Digital Papers - Fairy Tale Dreams - Nitwit Collections
Spellbinders scallop circle
Gems - Meiflower

I am going to enter my card in these challenges

Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge - Birthdays (ends 5th Aug)
Crafty Cardmakers - Birthday

Black, white and one other colour

Hi there, welcome to a beautiful sunny Monday morning, and a new challenge over at My Besties and this week the theme for our challenge is

to be in with the chance of winning 10 digi images or one of the many runner up prizes make a card or project using a My Besties image and following our theme and then pop over to the challenge blog and link it up. We would love for you to play along.

Digital Papers - Daisy Chain- Just So Scrappy
Lifestyle Nesting Doily Circles
Lifestyle Nesting Circles
Spellbinders - Labels 11
Die-namics - Upsy Daisies Die
Organza ribbon - Meiflower

As she was called Banana Pie I thought it would be a good idea to make my one other colour yellow, it's a bit brighter than a banana yellow but with all the glorious sunshine we are having at the moment a bright sunny yellow seemed more appropriate.
Don't forget to take a look at the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies over on the challenge blog.

Also a quick mention about the month long Besties of Oz challenge that is running alongside the regular weekly challenges, use one of the Besties of Oz images on your project and play along with the challenge to be in with the chance of winning a massive $100 cash prize.

Thanks for looking,

Heart Balloon

Phew! is it hot enough for you? being fair skinned and fair haired I must admit I'm not a great lover of the sun, and tend to keep out of it. I usually cover myself in factor 50 sun lotion before I'll even venture out the door as I burn easily, and I have lots of photo's hidden away where my face looks like a tomato. Meg is exactly the same as me, but my hubby, other daughter and grandchildren all tan easily and go a lovely colour, especially Will my oldest grandson, who only has to look at the sun to go brown. Luckily, last year my hubby built a small covered area over part of the patio, so Meg and I can sit in the shade and enjoy the warmth without getting burned.

Just a quick reminder that we are halfway through our Think Pink challenge over at Paper Creator and last week you may remember, that after using a Front Stand card kit but turning it on it's side, I said I would show you one made the right way up this week, so here it is.

Heart Balloon Front Stand kit - Paper Creator
Couture Creations dies - Ivy Set
Ribbons, gems and heart charm - Meiflower

Hope you have a lovely weekend, and that
it is as glorious were you are as it is here.

Where do you keep yours!

I made this card last year, but kept forgetting to blog it, so today I thought it was time to get it posted, unfortunately, as I have been so long getting around to it I have forgotten which papers I had used, and in trying to link the sentiment, have found out that the Graphicat stamps store is closed due to the owners ill health. I have linked what products I could and if you recognise the papers let me know where they are from and I will add a link.

I used Beauty in the Making Front Stand Kit, part of a fabulous Mega Bundle which you can find HERE  which contains 10 kits for only £5, but I turned the design to the left by 90 degrees and made a side opening card rather than the tent card that it's supposed to be (I have used one of the other designs in the correct way and will be posting that next weekend).

Lifestyle dies - nesting lacy circles
Spellbinders - scalloped circle
Butterfly die - Memory Box - Vivienne butterfly
Ribbon, and pearl - Meiflower

New Baby Boy ( well new-ish!)

Now this may seem a bit odd, but today I have a card to show you that I was asked to make a couple of weeks ago - by a friend - for the birth of her latest grandson, even though he was born 10 months ago!!!

This particular lady was one of the teaching assistants in my daughter Meg's class, when she attended the local special needs school. Diane and her friend Karen both worked in Meg's class and the pair of them together are like Morecambe and Wise, they are a real double act and will have you cracking up with laughter within a couple of minutes of meeting them. Meg adored them and they adored her, and they have kept in touch with her even though she left school over 4 years ago and wasn't even in their class for the last three years that she was in school. They regularly visit, and never forget her birthdays or Christmas. We always look forward to their visits as we know they will be full of fun.
Anyway, I have been making special occasion cards for Diane since Meg first joined their class in 2003 and over the years have made all her children's 18th and 21st birthday cards, their engagement and wedding cards and then all her grandchildren's birth and christening cards, but for some reason this little fellow was overlooked. All her children have memory boxes for their babies and Brannon was the only one who didn't have a handmade birth card in his box, so she asked me if I would make him one now, so that it could be added before he was old enough to notice that he didn't have one LOL!

I used a gorgeous Di's digi image called Baby Blanket - coloured in Photoshop (couldn't find image in store to link)
Papers - Petal Fresh - Nitwit Collections
Spellbinders Label Eleven Die
Martha Stewart double scallop edge punch
X-Cut palm punches - Hearts
Ribbon and pearls - Meiflower

I am going to enter my card into the following challenges

Crafty Creations - #229 Babies
Fab 'n' Funky  - #178 Anything but square
Bearly Mine Challenges  - #93 Anything Goes
Crafty Boots -  Anything but Square
Make it Monday  - always Anything Goes

Thanks for taking a look,

Shabby Chic?

Welcome to another My Besties Challenge, this time around the theme is
to be honest I never quite know how to do shabby, and usually end up just rubbing the edges of the papers with a brown ink pad, which is exactly what I've done this time LOL! although I've also used a creamy ink pad this time too and crumpled up the paper I used to make the rolled roses before die cutting them, I rubbed a white metallic paint over the corners to give them a slightly metallic look, which unfortunately doesn't show up so well in the photo.  Hopefully that will be shabby enough, as for the chic part - I don't have a chic bone in my body hehe!

Image - My Besties - img765 Milly Mae (coloured in Photoshop)
All digital papers - Glorious Day - Just So Scrappy
Corners - Lea'bilities Leane 006 Border/corner curve
Roses - Marianne Creatabilities LR016
Bunting - Nellie Snellen MFD011 and spellbinders circles
Stick on Gems, satin ribbon and teeny diamante circle ribbon slider - Meiflower
