Special Delivery!!!

Happy Easter!

Today's card has absolutely nothing at all to do with Easter, (although the papers came from an Easter Digital scrap booking kit so does that count?!), but I bought the digi stamp a couple of days ago and couldn't wait to colour it up and show it off.
I have a few friends who would really appreciate this fun card.

Image - Special Delivery digi stamp - Redonkulous Designs, coloured in Photoshop
Papers, border and corner - So Egg-cited - Crazy 4 Monograms

Stick on gems - Meiflower

On Friday morning I spent a couple of hours adding gems to two pairs of baby Converse. My daughter Stacy had bought a pair for each of her brother and sisters new babies but wanted me to bling them up. You should have seen the state of me doing them, the glue is toxic and has to be used in a well ventilated area and you need to wear a mask too, so there I was sitting in my craft room with all the windows wide open, wearing a big thick woolly cardigan, scarf, protective mask and goggles and looking like something from a horror movie, (not much different than usual then LOL!). I blinged the rubber toes and added a little bit of a design around the sides.

I think they turned out OK.

Wishing you all a lovely Easter,

Rocket Man

Today I have one of the new Paper Creator Triple over the Edge cards to show you. These are trifold cards and some of the images stick out over the edge of the card. They are really simple to put together and the kit contains all the decoupage, sentiment panels (including a blank one to add your own message) and a matching box like envelope. Once the card was made I really didn't do much more than punch out a few glittery silver stars and dot them around.

There's an Easter Sale on at Paper Creator until the 2nd April, so pop over and grab yourself some bargains.

A Bee-utiful Day Bookmark Card

Here's another one of the Bookmark cards from the Paper Creator mega bundle. This time around I used the editable sheet and added my own wording to the bookmark and the sentiment strip on the front. I added all the decoupage layers, made up the matching envelope and perforated the join between the card and bookmark so that it can be easily separated.

I love the bright summery colours of this card, which is just what we need after all the snow we've had recently.

Burst of Sunshine!

Yes, I did say sunshine, although the ground is still mostly covered in snow and it is bitterly cold, the sun is streaming through the window as I type this, there is a bit of blue in the sky and a bit of green grass peeping through as the snow thaws, it will be summer before you know it LOL!

To be honest - Burst of Sunshine - is the name of the digital scrap-booking kit I used for today's Teddy Bo Tuesday card. I felt a need for some bright sunny colours as a change from all the wintry weather we've been having recently.

A Pirates Life Bookmark Card

Paper Creator have a fabulous Mega Bundle of bookmark cards, these are brilliant as you are giving a card and little gift at the same time, they are really easy to make and the Mega Bundle contains 10 different designs. You can also buy the designs singly.

The kit contains decoupage, a matching envelope and and a blank bookmark and sentiment panel so that you can add your own wording if you want. I have made a couple of these and the one I am showing you today is just printed as it comes, I have added the decoupage layers, perforated down the join between the card and bookmark so the bookmark will tear off easily and made the matching envelope.
I will show you another later in the week where I added my own wording to the bookmark and sentiment panel.

Daydreams in the garden

It's Teddy Bo Tuesday again and our current challenge is Spring, so today's card has been done in Spring colours. I love this sweet image of Teddy Bea daydreaming whilst watering her tulips.

My daughter Meg is in respite for the week (she went last Friday) and hubby and I were planning on going away for a few days this week, then suddenly over the weekend he decided it would be a good idea to decorate the kitchen instead!!!!
We spent most of yesterday choosing new flooring and wallpaper, and today as you read this I will be busily stripping the old paper off the walls, some holiday LOL!

Spring has Sprung!

Actually it is far from Spring-like here at the moment, it's really cold and the weather forecast has promised, rain, hail and sleet showers, thunderstorms and even a little snow, so more like winter than Spring. We do have a few little snowdrops showing their heads in the garden and frog spawn in the pond, so Spring must definitely be going to arrive one day!
Until that day arrives we will have to make do with the challenge over at Paper Creator which this month is
Spring has Sprung
so if you fancy making a card or project with Spring colours, flowers, ducks, chicks, bunnies or an Easter theme, we would love for you to pop it into the challenge where you have the chance of winning a fabulous £10 voucher to spend in store. You don't even need to use a Paper Creator product to enter, but if you do you will get two entries into the draw.

For my card I used one of the new Triple Topper Kits, it has a cute duck on it, lots of flowers and is in a nice fresh lilac colour. The card was really easy to put together, I added my own sentiment to the blank panel in the kit and I also made up the matching envelope.

Toppers

Although I love to colour in images to use on my cards, there are also times when I need a card in a hurry, and ready printed toppers are a very useful item to have to hand as you can put a card together in a very short time if you don't need to colour an image first.

I have had the chance to play with some gorgeous Hobby House toppers from Crafty Devils recently and will be showing you the cards I've made over the next couple of weeks, (you may have seen the first couple on Sundays post), well today I have another two to show you, once again one uses  a Hobby House topper and the other a Papermania Heartwarmers topper.

Everything used is available from Crafty Devils papercraft.

Topper - Papermania Heartwarmers - Male Relations
Paper - Wild Rose Studios Gorgeous Ginghams
X-Cut nesting dies - Star
Buttons - Rainbow Mix

This card was made with a piece of Kraft card that I had die cut a circle out of for another card. I decided to make a tent card and dangle the topper in the aperture. The "lace" around the aperture was made by punching strips of pearl paper, joining them together until they were long enough to go around my aperture, scoring between the scallops, then adding wet glue around the opening and manipulating the paper into place using the scored lines to help.

Hobby House Topper - Cupcake Girls
Papers - Wild Rose Studio Annabelle's Meadow and Gorgeous Ginghams
Tonic geared punch - Dotty border
Buttons - Papermania capsule collection mini polka dots - Parkstone Pink
Wide and narrow white satin ribbons.

Teddy Bo Tuesday

The days between Tuesdays seem to fly by, I can't believe it's TBT again already.
I had terrible problems getting a photo of this card yesterday, so please excuse the grotty picture, every time I tried to take a photo it was either very dark, dull and snowing, or very bright sunshine (still bitterly cold though) which cast horrible shadows across the card. I ended up having to use my daylight lamp, and although I still have horrible shadows, they aren't as bad as they were LOL.
I took about 30 photos in all and this was the best of a bad bunch.

Image - TEDDYBEA_261_MUM (I cut off the M's) - coloured in Photoshop
Digital Papers, scalloped border, stitching and butterfly -  Pretty as a Flower - JSSC4M collab

His and Hers!

Happy Mothers Day
to all the very deserving mums out there, hope you are being thoroughly spoilt.

Now I know it's Mother's day and I'm jumping the gun a bit here, but today as well as a girlie card suitable for mum I also have a card for dad, even though he will have to wait until Father's day in June to get it, unless he has a birthday in the meantime LOL!

Both these card are made with products available from Crafty Devils, they have some fabulous Hobby House die cut toppers and  also Heartwarmers Sparkling sentiments, very pretty die cut sentiment panels with lots of glittery sparkles.

Pearlescent cardstock - raspberry,
Assorted adhesive gems.

I made the butterfly with the Rose Creations die, die-cutting two different sized sets of petals and then removing one petal from each set. I shaped the leaves and used stick on gemstones to make the body.

See you soon,
hugs,
Colette xx

Polly's pink flower

Here's another card using one of Sassy Cheryl's fabulous illustrations which are available from the Paper Creator store, this one is called Polly's pink flower, and I thought it would be a lovely image to use on a Mothers day card, although this time around the card is for a nanny rather than a mother.

Papers and alpha - Fly Away with me and So Egg-cited - Crazy4monograms
Tonic Geared punch - Daisy Border

You can't tell from the picture, but each letter was cut out individually, and then I shaped them with an embossing tool so they look like large card candi, and fixed each into place with a foam pad.

Teddy Bo Tuesday - Spring

It's the first Tuesday of the month which means it's time for some new releases and the start of a new challenge at Teddy Bo.
There are some fabulous new releases which are perfect for your Mother's day and Easter cards, and a few others which are suitable for all occasions.

For the new challenge this month the theme will be
Spring
As well as Spring colours and flowers you also have Mother's Day and Easter cards that will fit the Spring theme quite nicely, so plenty of chances to make a card using a Teddy Bo and Co image and enter our challenge to be in with the chance of winning 5 Teddy Bo digi images of your choice.

Once again this week I have two cards using the same image, papers, flowers and embellishments, the only difference is the card shape and dies I used on each card.

I love making flowers for cards and have lots of dies that do the job perfectly, but with the challenge being a Spring theme I really wanted to have a representation of a Daffodil on my cards, so I punched out a daisy  and a 1" circle, shaped the petals of the daisy and cut a spiral into the circle, which I then rolled up using a quilling tool, and attached to the centre of the daisy, not perfect Daffodils, but I thought they looked OK.

Image - TEDDYBO_247 - coloured in Photoshop
Digital Papers - So Egg-cited Scrap Kit - Crazy4Monograms
Die Cut RicRac - Sizzix Borders and hydrangeas die
Tonic mini boot punch - butterfly
Flowers - Tonic regular boot punch - Daisy and 1 inch circle punch
Square Dazzlers, stick on gems and ribbon - Meiflower

For my second card I enlarged the image and then cut the part I wanted to use with a circle die.
Details as above except for the die, this time around I used
Die-namics Photo Corners die and rectangular dazzlers.

One and only!

I am lucky enough to own lots of lovely Meiflower buttons, but because I love bling so much they tend to get forgotten about as I am far too busy dolling my cards up with sparkly bits and pieces.
For my card today I thought I would go totally blingless?!?!?! and use some of these gorgeous black and white buttons that I've had in my stash for quite a while.
As I wanted the buttons to be the main focus of the card I have kept the design very simple.

polka dot papers - scraps box
Tonic Geared punch - Dotty border
Sentiment computer generated and printed straight on to A4 card before cutting to size
Black and white narrow satin ribbon and Damask patterned buttons - Meiflower

The buttons are also available with the design in white, and Meiflower also have a large selection of small polka dot and plain buttons in a huge variety of colours, as well as some spotty, stripey and gingham designs.

Unfortunately you won't find the buttons on the website at the moment, but if you ring your order through you will be able to get them that way.

Thanks for dropping in,
hugs,
Colette xx
