Freebie Men In Mind Alpha

Clipart Fairy is offering a freebie alpha called Men In Mind over on her blog, there will be five letters each day until you have a full uppercase, and lowercase alpha and all the numbers. So far the first 10 lowercase letters are up. She also has a matching paper set in her store.

This card uses a few of the letters, the golfer from the Golf Mad kit (you can also buy him as a digi stamp) and a grey paper (used on the bottom front and inside of the card) from the Urban Roundabout papers 2.

I laid out the card design in my graphics software, and also tweaked the colour of the golfers shirt to make him a better match for the letters, printed it, and then put the card through again and printed the plain grey paper on the reverse. I folded the card down the right hand edge of the letters then cut around bottom, top and left hand side while the card was still folded. I then opened up the card and cut around the front design only on the right hand side, leaving the edge straight on the back section. I printed the front design again, cut around it and attached to the front with foam pads, I also cut a plain section to match the back and attached this with foam pads, (it makes the card more stable).
The golfer and the letter A were also printed again and both attached with foam pads, I inked around the edges with a brown ink pad and added three buttons and some string from stash.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Whoopsi daisy challenge - Someone special
Tuesday Throwdown  - 3D - Pop it up
I Did It Creations - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
ECP Challenges - Something for the Boys

Polkadoodle stashbox stamp challenge

The challenge over on the Polkadoodles blog this week is
Stashbox stamps plus extras
you can use any stamp but you also have to use 2 different ribbons and a charm

For this card I used elements from Sundae of Seasons (fairy garden and toadstool) and papers from Candy Doodles-plain candies, Paper Boutique III-dotty paper, and a stampie from Sugar Birdies for the sentiment. The fairy image is a Charmed Delectable Enchanted Pixie stamp, a RAK from Ruth (thanks Ruth), coloured with Promarkers and Sakura stardust pens. The wide pink ribbon is from Jennys'craft shop in Widnes, the narrow ribbon is from stash and coloured with promarkers (it was white) and the two little dragonfly charms on the sentiment, I've had for so long, I don't remember where they came from.

If you are looking for more inspiration go over to the Polkadoodle blog and check out the other DT members creations.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenge:

Do you stack up - Anything goes

Gonna get Married?

Not me no!, happily married for 22 years and counting, it's the name of one of the Clipart Fairy's new kits, and when I saw it I just couldn't resist, I fell in love with the fun image.

It's a great kit, and excellent value at only 65p for five papers, the bride and groom image, a wedding cake, and 2 word arts. Here's what I did with it.

This is how it looks when it's closed.

Here it is opened up....

...and from a different angle.

The flowers, pearls and pearl hearts are all from my stash, everything else from the Gonna Get Married-Lilac kit.

I've found a couple of challenges that this is suitable for:

Guylou's Inimitability - Anything Goes
Little Claire's Designs - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Funky - (bride and groom image)
ResQ - Something that makes you happy - (wedding)
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
Paper Romance Challenges-Anything Goes
Creative Craft World - Square card

There is also a fab freebie on the Clipart Fairy's blog, I made this very quick card with it.

There are two parts to the freebie, the plain pink nestin and the patterned nestin with the baby image and wordart on, I printed the plain nestin onto one half of a sheet of A4 white linen card, scored and folded it and then cut around both pieces whilst still folded so the back and front shapes matched. I printed out the patterned layer twice, added one to the main card with foam pads, then cut out the baby and the wordart from the second and again added to the card with foam pads, I then added a little bow with vintage seam binding from the Ribbon Girl with a little flower from my stash in the middle and lots of glamour dust of course!

You can put the parts together any way you like, the Clipart Fairy has made an easel card with it over on her blog, check it out while you are picking up the freebie.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges.
The Pixie Cottage - Something Cute (baby)

Teddy Bo Tuesday and new challenge

It's the start of another challenge on the Teddy Bo Challenge Blog this week and the theme this time around is
DUCK EGG BLUE AND BROWN
Your card or project must contain these colours and of course a Teddy Bo and Co image, and this week the prize will be some Teddy Bo and Co digi's. I hope that you can join us, as myself and the rest of the design team always look forward to seeing your fabulous creations.

Don't forget to go over to the Teddy Bo store and check out all the fantastic new images.

This week I have used Shopping Daze to make a 21st birthday card for my friends daughter, Bea was coloured in photoshop and her boots, dress and bags paper pieced. All papers used are from Clipart Fairy's Dollie Mixtures papers 1 and the book-a-easel pages are from Dollie Mixtures Mega book-a-easel pages, ribbon and pearls are from stash, and there is a generous sprinkling of glamour dust too.

I can't get the photos to show the dimensional look of the book-a-easel, so take my word for it that it looks much better in real life, wish the same could be said for me LOL!

This is the card flat-ish and ready for posting.

Chocolate

Welcome to another Polkadoodle Friday, and this week the theme for our challenge is Chocolate, or Chocolat as Saskia, who set the theme and comes from Belgium would say.We are asking to see your cards or projects made using a chocolate colour scheme, images or even some real chocolate.

I decided on  a chocolate, strawberries and cream colour scheme.

Papers and cake images came from the ever versatile Sundae of Season CD rom, I used fluffy stuff on the large cake to represent cream and glossy accents on the choc chips on the small cakes. The ribbon came from my friend Karen's stash, (I scrounged it off her whilst I was visiting recently hehe!), thanks Karen.

Pop over to the Polkadoodle blog to see what inspiration my fabulous teamies have concocted for you.

Right all this talk of chocolate and cakes has me drooling, off to see what's in the cupboard.

Teddy Bo Tuesday

It's Teddy Bo Tuesday, once again, you know what that means, lots of new digi's in store. I have used one of them for my card this week.
I just fell in love with this image the minute I saw it, I love the little dolly tied to the front of the box as the masthead, it makes me smile every time I see it, so here's my card using Pirate Bo.

All papers are digi papers from a couple of scrapbooking kits I've had for a while, the card background and insert papers are from Pirate Treasure Kit by Sweet Blossoms Designs, the crumpled looking paper beneath Pirate Bo and the wording is from My Little Pirate by Snowsmoons Designs. The string was from the local market. The crumpled papers are edged with a brown ink pad and layered onto the card using foam pads, I have then cut out another Bo image and skull and crossbones and again layered with foam pads.
I'm not too keen on tent cards so tend to do mine this way if I want a landscape design, plus the spine down the left hand side with the holes in gives you the opportunity to add a bit of ribbon or some other embellishment.

**Karen,** I haven't folded the insert and then unfolded it, those lines are all done digitally, and the crumpled paper is crumpled digitally too,  I know it will have you confused, hehe!, so I will bring it with me when I come visiting tonight.

.....because Teddy Bo was VERY romantic yesterday Teddy Bea has allowed him to have a 24 hour sale today.....so starting NOW...for every 3 graphics you buy you will receive 2 FREE....one of them you can choose and one Bo will choose.

There's still a few days left to enter the Teddy Bo 'Think Pink' challenge - so take advantage of the offer above, get your digi's and give it a go, we are being sponsored by Bearly Mine Designs, and the winner gets to pick two digi sets of their choice, so what are you waiting for!

Happy Valentine's day and my first Clipart Fairy Design Team post.

Way back in August of last year, the Clipart Fairy had a design team call, I love her stuff and think I own nearly everything in her store LOL! I would love to have been able to apply but I didn't have a blog. My hubby suggested I start one and then if there was ever another design team call I could apply, I uuummmed and aaahhhed for a month or two and then in October last year I finally took the plunge and set up Digiredoodah. Since then I have become a design team member for both Polkadoodles and Teddy Bo and am loving every minute of it, but last week Wendy (the clipart fairy) emailed me and asked me if I would like to be on her team, how could I not say yes!, after all she is the whole reason this blog is up and running, so here it is my first Design Team post for the Clipart Fairy.

My first card is made using elements from loung girl country chic 1, Baxter red roses and Bailey red roses. I printed my design onto linen card from the Paper Mill, printing one of the patterned papers onto the reverse, once folded this would make the inside. I scored and folded down the side of the letter L,( part of the V was folded to the back) then cut around the letters and made the back square. I printed out a second copy of Love and cut out the V and the heart, cut the centres from both hearts, added acetate, filled with confetti hearts and little no hole beads and layered them together using shaker tape. I printed Baxter and Bailey twice, I tucked Baxter behind the second V and secured him in place before layering the V's together using foam tape, I cut out his little arm and decoupaged it over the V. I layered Bailey up over the heart using foam pads,  glamour dusted around the letters and added some card candy picked up at the Sincerely Yours craft show in Leigh last year.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Bee-crafty - Hearts
AI factory - Valentines day/love
Cupcake Craft Challenges - I (heart) you
Pear Tree Designs - Valentines day

My second card uses Bohemian papersBohemian frames and Bohemian frames Lounge girl 1. I made the martini glass and wordart myself in photoshop.

I printed the background card with one of the plain bohemian papers, using a striped one for the mat and a floral one for the insert. I used ribbon from my stash across the mat and tied into a bow, then layered the rectangle frame over it with foam pads, I cut out my girl in the glass, added her to the card and decoupaged her up, again using foam pads. I used another rectangle of card to make the steps at the front of the card and added my wording to this. Again everything has a liberal sprinkling of glamour dust.
I like the look of the front steps and have lots of ideas, so expect to see more cards using this element.

I managed to find a couple of challenges that aren't based around love and hearts to enter this card into:

Etsy inspired by this from Glowgirl - (pattern on insert and frames)
Our creative corner - Cut it out
Catch the bug - different fold  (front steps) hope they count!

If you have never visited the Clipart Fairy, head over to her store and have a look around, there is lots to see and the prices are great, there is also a good selection of freebies if you have a look back through her blog.

**edited to add** Woohoo, Wendy has just added a freebie cocktail glass on her blog, inspired by my design.

Clipart Fairy Challenge update

Some of you may have noticed that the Clipart Fairy challenge link closed earlier that it should have, Wendy set it up before she went away and as it was her first time made a bit of a hash of it. She has now reset it and you still have three days to enter if you fancy giving it a go. I have copied the extract below from her blog so you can read what she has to say about it.

Ok I botched up!!! but I must be forgiven as this is my very first challenge and if you don't forgive me I will cry :(
I'm re-lauching the challenge (I have already asked the ladies who submitted entries to re-submit them)
I'm going to judge the challenge myself (gulp).
The challenge remains the same, you must use only theclipartfairy products and you must include both a semi-circle and a heart, it doesn't have to be the same shape heart as in pic above so long as it's a heart.
It can be for any theme, any colour, any style and here's a FREEBIE curved wordart you can use if you wish, good luck, hugs Wendy x
Prize to the winner is £10 to spend at http://www.theclipartfairy.com/

Head to her blog here if you want to pick up the freebie wordart.

Warning! this post contains some really bad puns.

Polkadoodles friday is here again, I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by.
This week's challenge was set by the lovely Miria, who is a romantic Italian, and her theme is That's Amore!, she wants to see your cards and projects inspired by a  love song or film.
My card was made using the cute owl stampie, and pretty papers and flowers from the Sugar Birdies Collectors Edition CD Rom. I made a frame from one of the papers, which is raised on foam pads, and the owl is layered up to give a 3d effect, I also changed the wording in the banner he was holding, added some buttons from stash for the flower centres and a bit of glamour dust around the frame and there you have it.
Now, I can hear you all asking, but what love song is it, apologies in advance for this next part, it's (oh no - here it comes!) 'Owl always love you' by that brilliant artiste T-wit-ney T-woo-ston, sorry.... I just couldn't resist LOL!

I hope you can forgive me for the bad puns and join us for this weeks challenge over at Polkadoodles.

Also a quick reminder, Nikky will be demonstrating in Samuel Taylors at Embsay, Skipton tomorrow(Sat) between 11am and 4pm so if you are in the area call in and see what she's up to!

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Card Makin' Mamas- Valentine
Creative Stamp Friends - Valentine
Pear Tree Designs - Free for all
Card Mad Fairy's Digi Days - Romance
Creative Card Crew - for a loved one

Clipart Fairy's first ever Challenge

Many of you may have noticed  my prediliction for Clipart Fairy papers etc., I have been collecting her digi stuff for quite a while now, she was also the catalyst for me starting this blog (more about that next week), anyway, at the moment she has a challenge running (only 1 day left to enter), it is her very first one and although it is quite a strict challenge, all papers, images etc. used, must be from the Clipart Fairy, (check out her blog, if you work your way back through the posts you will find lots of freebies that you may be able to use) the prize is £10 to spend in her store and let me tell you, you will be totally amazed at how much you can buy for £10, pop by and check out her prices. Your project also needs to contain a semi circle and a heart.
Here is my entry:

I have made a rocker card (semi circle), using papers from the Sweet Candy paper pack (66 papers for just £3.00) and the girl from Lounge Girl Country Chic, paper piecing her dress, bow and shoes from a paper in the Chalky Checks backing papers B&W (30p for 3), as the red just didn't go with the pink, the 'You Rock My World' wordart is my own and there also is a liberal sprinkling of Glamour Dust.

Teddy Bo Tuesday - new challenge

Hi everyone, another Teddy Bo Tuesday and our next challenge is up today, this time the theme is
In the Pink
The main colour on your card must be pink and of course there must also be a Teddy Bo or Bea image.
Once again there are some fabulous new images in store, make sure you go and check them out, you'll love them.

My card this week features Teddy Bea on a swing and Teddy Bo pushing her, he really is a sweetie isn't he!

Bo and Bea were coloured and their clothes paper pieced digitally in photoshop. All digi papers used are from the Clipart Fairy. The front sentiment is a freebie from TLC. I cut an oval using my nesties, and with the die still in place inked around the edges with a pink ink pad. Teddy Bea's swing is attached to the oval using a brad so that she can actually swing. A brown ink pad was used to ink around the edges of the papers and card. The bow is made using vintage style seam binding from the Ribbon Girl and the flowers and flat backed pearls are from my stash.

Bo pushing

This week I have used the elephant from the Paper Boutique III CD Rom, printed twice, flipped one, added a bow and drew on some eyelashes. The heart shaped background was decorated with paper from the Love and Cherish CD Rom both front and back. I used strips of acetate and some punched hearts to make it look like the elephants were spraying hearts from their trunks.

There are plenty of non Valentine images too, so something for everyone.
Here's a card I put together with one of the new images, my niece's daughter Mya will be two this month, so I thought it was time to introduce her to Teddy Bea, I'm sure she will love her.
Teddy Bea sitting is one of the new images in the store, all digi papers came from Clipart Fairy, ribbon (painted with watered down pva glue and dipped in glamour dust) and flower are from stash. I coloured Teddy Bea in photoshop, paper pieced her dress (digitally), printed her out several times and layered her up to give a 3d effect, I also added glossy accents to her nose and the buttons on her hat.
