Embossed Christmas Card

I really wanted to use the Crafts Too Christmas Greetings embossing folder as I have had it in my collection for a couple of years now and don't think I have ever used it, mind you I have a lot of dies and embossing folders like that LOL! every single die or folder I buy I have an idea for at the time, and then they go into a box with the rest and the next time I come across them I can't remember what my idea was!

This Christmas card was quick and easy to put together, but I love the way it turned out.

Princess Twinkle toes

Hi there, it's time for another challenge over at My Besties, this week it is my teams turn, but before I tell you this weeks theme I want to let you know about a few changes to the challenge.
You can now choose to do either - anything goes or follow the theme -  you still have to use a My Besties image for whichever part of the challenge you are following, and if you enter an anything goes card you won't be in the draw to win 5 My Besties Digi images (only cards that follow the theme than do that) but you will still be in the draw for one of the two runners up prizes of 3 My Besties Digi images.
Another new feature is that  from now on we will also be having a DT favourite, so each week one member of the DT gets to pick their favourite card from all the entries and that person will win 3 digi images, there is also a special blinkie for the DT favourite.

We would love to see your creations using either the

Digital stamp - My Besties Princess Twinkle toes img 668 - coloured in Photoshop
Digital papers - Glorious Day - Just So Scrappy
Doily die - Marietta Buckle - Memory Box
Metallic edged ribbon, purple stick on pearls and 2mm stick on gems (crown) - Meiflower

Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of my teamies.

Thanks for dropping in and taking a look,

Christmas Countdown!

Don't worry I'm not that sad, it's still a bit too far away to be counting down, although I don't want to worry you or anything but there are only 94 days to go - hehe!.

My card today is one of the fabulous new Christmas Countdown Stepper cards from Paper Creator,  it's part of the latest Mega Bundle, which is on offer at the moment, so you get 10 Countdown stepper kits for only £5. Each kit comes with a matching box and envelope and I did print out the matching box for this card, but forgot to put it together, duh! (I only realised when I was loading the photo up to the blog).

Christmas Countdown Stepper - Christmas Tree kit - Paper Creator
Snowflakes - Martha Stewart Snowflake border punch - I cut between the snowflakes
Gingham bow, Aurora Borealis and 2mm coloured gems (decorating the tree) - Meiflower

Hope you have a lovely weekend and it's not too cold or too wet where you are,

Wedding invitation #12

Hi there, I've had such a busy week that I haven't had much time to blog, so when I found a few minutes to spare, I thought to myself, go get something on that blog!

Today I have another of the wedding invitation samples, we still have a few to go, so it seemed a good time to show you another one.

Pearlescent silver card - The Range
Floral glittered Vellum - The Range
White Pearl card - Anna Marie Designs
Ribbons, gems and diamante ribbon slider - Meiflower

Unfortunately the photo is a bit rubbish and doesn't show up the gorgeous glittery patterned vellum very well, but it's very sparkly and pretty in real life.

Jawsome birthday

Today my grandson Will is celebrating his eighth birthday, he had ten of his friends over to my house yesterday to play in the garden, thankfully I was out at the Manchester Craft show for most of the time, I only made it home for the last half hour (accidently on purpose LOL!). It wasn't really a party, no party food or anything, but his mum went to the chippy and bought lots of bags of chips and sausages (one of the things on his birthday present list was a chippy meal) which the kids loved.
My hubby built Will a tree house a couple of years ago and then added a rope climbing frame to it last year, we also have a 10ft trampoline, a swing set and a small slide so there was plenty of things to play on, even before the bouncy castle turned up.

I think I told you in a previous post that he is shark mad and the gorier the shark the better, so I thought I would show you a pic of  his birthday cake which has a shark's head bursting through the water with a mouthful of body parts.
I love the body parts, particularly the legs with the flippers on.
(Please excuse the messy paint stained stool we stood it on to take a picture from above, the rest of my house doesn't look like that honestly! LOL!)

Of course I had to make him a couple of Shark themed birthday cards, one from my younger daughter Meg and one from hubby and I.

This is the one from Meg

I made the shark fins in Photoshop
Water and wood panel for sentiment are papers from YoHo digital scrap kit by Just so Scrappy
Wording is computer generated.
I made a tent card, fixed the higher fin in place and then covered the front with a piece of the wave paper after cutting it out along a row of waves, I then added the lower fin using foam pads and another layer of wave paper again with foam pads before fixing the sentiment in place.

I found the image on Google, re-sized it in Photoshop and then printed it out a couple of times,so that I could layer up the shark, his mouth and teeth, doesn't show up too well in pic but looks really effective in real life.

The pop up shark on the inside was made using a free template and instructions I found HERE, the background paper is from  Pool Party digital scrap kit again by Just So Scrappy, I cut the body using an old sizzix die, although you are supposed to then die cut clothes for it, not feed it to the sharks hehe!

I added Bruce from finding Nemo, just for a bit of extra detail.

He is off to the Sealife centre today to see the Sharks (what else LOL!)

Thanks for stopping by,
Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
hugs,
Colette xx

Snowey and his Bluebird

It's the start of the next challenge at Paper Creator today and this time around the theme is
Christmas
We would love for you to play along and show us your Christmas creations, the randomly drawn winner gets £10 to spend in store, and you don't even have to use Paper Creator products to enter.

For my card I used the fab Sassy Cheryl illustration Snowey and his Bluebird, and designed myself an easel book card using some brilliant label shapes I bought from a digital scrapbooking site. I used a digital scrapbook kit for the background papers that picked up the colours in the image.

Image - Snowey and his bluebird - Sassy Cheryl at Paper Creator
Papers and Merry Christmas wordart - Santa Baby digital scrap kit - Just So Scrappy
Label Shapes - Chelle's creations at Scrap Orchard
Snowflakes - Martha Stewart border punch (I cut the border apart to make individual flakes)
Wonderful time of the year word art - Computer generated
Ribbons and Gems - Meiflower
Charm was a gift from a friend.

Pop over to the Paper Creator challenge blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of my teamies.

I'll be back tomorrow, with the shark themed cards I made for my grandsons birthday and a pic of his shark attack birthday cake.
Enjoy your Saturday,

Joy!

Thank goodness it's Friday! we are finally heading into the weekend, and I am soooo glad to see the end of a very busy week. Meg goes into respite today for a week, and as usual I am so looking forward to a few nights of undisturbed sleep, she goes approximately every 8 weeks, and by then I am well and truly ready for the break.
It's also my grandson Will's birthday on Sunday, he will be 8 and amongst the many things on his present list was tea from the chippy, Tangfastics and about 27 Shark DVD's, he is shark mad at the moment and the gorier the film the better. I will be back on Sunday to show you the Shark themed cards I made for him, along with a pic of his Shark birthday cake.
On Monday Eric and I celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary, he has booked some time off work and we are going to have a couple of days out, most probably visiting reclamation yards as I am looking for some bits and pieces for the garden.
Tomorrow I am off to the craft show at Events City Manchester, looking forward to catching up with Mei (Meiflower) and Mel (Crafty Devils) as they will both be at the show and more importantly buying some new crafty goodies.

I have a couple of Christmas cards to show you today, both Meiflower samples, if you are going to the Manchester show, you will get to see them 'in real life'

Sew cute!

Many months ago Mei (Meiflower) gave me a couple of needle charms and asked me if I could use them on a card. I immediately went looking for a digi stamp that would go with the needle and found this beauty at Stitchy Bear. I purchased her and coloured her up and then as usual with me got side-tracked and completely forgot to make a card. I came across the coloured image again yesterday and decided to get stuck in and make up a card, I love the image, she is just beautiful, and I had coloured her in my fave colour combo, so she had everything going for her LOL!

Monochrome

It's time for another Team A challenge over on the My Besties challenge blog and the theme is

I have to admit, it's not one of my favourite themes, as I love to use lots of bright colours, but I decided to go for a complete change and went with a grey colour scheme, I ummed and aahhhed over whether or not to have the flesh coloured or monochrome too, and after consulting with my design advisor (my hubby LOL!) decided to go with a totally monochrome look. The digital kit I used for the papers is in shades of pink, grey and black, and it was really difficult to just use the very drab grey papers, instead of the more colourful pink ones, but I think I have fulfilled the challenge criteria.

I think I should have put a coloured background behind the card when taking the photograph, because it looks like a black and white photo (at least I know the grey monochrome scheme was effective LOL!).

Papers and butterfly - Ooh la la digital scrap kit - Just So Scrappy
Fiskars border punch (hardly noticable behind the image and embellishments)
X cut palm punch - Petal - Large and Medium
Cheery Lyn Olive branches die
Silver grey pearls and large crown charm - Meiflower

Grip it and Rip it!

I just don't seem to have any time to do much these days, there is lots going on here, including Meg starting a 2 year course (providing she likes it!) on Monday. You wouldn't believe the amount of  phone calls and emails (including taking and sending pics of her toilet chair) backwards and forwards from the company running the course about Meg's toileting needs. I am not complaining as they are trying really hard to get everything sorted out so that she will be comfortable and happy when she is there, but if I've explained something once I have explained it a thousand times (slight exaggeration LOL!). The course is from 9am until 3pm three days a week, and Eric and I are now actually going in with her on Monday morning to show them how to manage her needs and get her back comfortably in her wheelchair - if she is not in right, she is not a happy bunny.

Most of the cards I post these days seem to be made up from kits or without any coloured images on them, I have been doing quite a bit of colouring, honestly, I just haven't found the time to get them made up into cards, with DT work, childminding and getting Meg sorted for Monday.
Hopefully once Meg is settled things will calm down a bit and I can get some cards made with my coloured images.

Anyway enough of all that, I have a card to show you, that once again uses a pre-coloured image. It's a Sassy Cheryl illustration called Grip it and Rip it Max which is available from Paper Creator, and I think it's quite a cute image for a young boy.

Image - Grip it and Rip it Max - Sassy Cheryl at Paper Creator
Papers, big star and arrow - Feeling Blue digital scrap kit - Crazy 4 Monograms
Stars - X-cut punches
Buttons and cord - Meiflower

I printed the image twice and layered the second with foam pads, and also doodled a double line around the edge of the image just to add a little something extra.

Enjoy the weekend,
hugs,
Colette xx

Wedding Invitation #11

Here is another one of the wedding invitation samples, this one is extra blingy (only following instructions), it has four diamante pieces on it, although the hearts at either side could always be die cut, sprayed with spray mount and dipped in glitter, so you would still have the design and the sparkle.

White Pearl Card – Anna MarieDesigns
Lavender Pearl Card – The Range
Nellie Snellen Multi FrameBorder MFD023
Ribbon, Diamante heart toppers and ribbon sliders – Meiflower

Have a lovely day,
