Birthday Cupcake

My niece's little girl will be four next month, and very unusually for me, I actually have her birthday card made, (I'm usually rushing around at the last minute to get it done) LOL! My family have given up on me and now just expect their cards to arrive late or not at all, so this year I am going to try harder to get them ready and delivered on time.
I used a brilliant Sassy Cheryl illustration called Sassy Sally's cupcake and teamed it up with some papers from a great digital scrapbook kit.

Image - Sassy Sally's Cupcake Illustration - Sassy Cheryl at Paper Creator
Digital papers, frame and number - My Birthday Girl Kit - Just so Scrappy
Ribbon, cupcake charm and pearls (sprinkles) - Meiflower

Now if I can just remember to post it on time I will be on a roll haha!!!

Meiflower have 50% off their mixed colours crystal gem packs at the moment, which makes them only 50p a pack, time to stock up I think.

Keeping it simple

Today I have my final wedding invitation of this batch to show you. It is a really simple design as sometimes that is what the bride wants, and also if you have a lot to make then the simpler the better. The centrepiece of this design is the beautiful diamanté flower sitting on top of the lush satin ribbon.
You could maybe use a fancy die frame for the name panel which would make it a bit more decorative, but I personally wanted to keep this one quite plain.

Silver Pearlescent card
Digital Paper - Frolicking - Eva Kipler
Silver Satin Ribbon and Diamante Flower - Meiflower

Hope you've enjoyed this latest batch of wedding invitation samples, I will be back with more in the summer.

Just Balloons

Here are a couple of cards I made using the Paper Creator Kit - Just Balloons - I ended up making two cards because the first time I printed the backing papers I was on the wrong printer settings and the yellow background paper printed slightly off the edge of the page, losing the red border down one edge. It seemed such a shame to waste a print so I used it anyway, I made a frame with some red and white card and added a die cut flower.

Just Balloons 6x6 card kit - Paper Creator
Baker's Twine - Stash
Red Gingham button - Meiflower

Spellbinders die - Rose Creations
Red metallic cord, gingham button and gems - Meiflower

Tying the Knot!

Today I have a couple more wedding invitations to show you, this time with a purple and white colour scheme.
When I started I only intended to make the one with the lattice top, but due to "a happy accident"  (really a mistake on my part LOL!) I ended up making two. When I die cut the heart originally it was far too big for the front of my card and covered the pattern from the lattice die, I cut a smaller heart from the middle of the larger and realised the frame that was left would make another card!

Lattice Edge Brittania Die - Pink Frog Crafts
X Cut nesting dies - Scalloped Hearts
Marianne Creatables - LR0238 Wedding Rings
Joy Crafts 6003/0005 Lattice Heart
Peel Off wording
Gems and satin ribbon flower - Meiflower

Ladybird Cube Calendar

Hi there, today I have something a little different to show you,  instead of my usual card I have a cube calendar from Paper Creator, and the good thing about the cube calendar is that it will go on working year after year after year!
It also has a little draw at each end for storing bits and bobs and comes with a matching presentation box.

I added a punched border to the front of my calendar decorated with  ribbon and gems from Meiflower, and  a couple of red gingham buttons (again from Meiflower) as little handles on the drawers. I also inked around the edges of the cubes, the border and the presentation box with a red ink pad.

I think it would make a perfect gift for Teacher at the end of the school year or even Christmas, and would maybe do well at craft fairs etc., and best of all there is a Mega Bundle offer in the Paper Creator store at the moment where you can get 10 different cube calendar kits for only £5 - bargain or what!!!

Check it out HERE
Cube Calendars - Mega Bundle

Thanks for looking,
see you soon,

Teddy Bo Tuesday

Well it's Tuesday and that can only mean one thing, time for another Teddy Bo card, although today it's actually Teddy Bea in the spotlight.
I have used another of this month's new releases for my card.

Image - TEDDYBEA_252 - coloured using Photoshop
Digital papers - So Egg-cited - Crazy4monograms
Border punch - EK Success Arch Scallop Edger
X-Cut Nesting Dies - Scalloped Rectangles
X-Cut - Corner Rounder punch - lsmall
Tonic mini Boot punches - Flower and Daisy
Tonic regular boot punch - Flower Head
Poppy Stamps Die - Gentle leaf
Marianne Creatables - LR0163 Rolled Roses
Ribbons, Gems and Pearls - Meiflower

I just used strips of  patterned papers and ribbons for the layout, and although I didn't actually use scraps I did think it would be a good way of using up some of those odds and ends of  papers and ribbons that all good crafters collect along the way, you know the ones you keep because they might 'come in'  LOL!

See you tomorrow,
hugs,
Colette xx

Me to You

Towards the end of last year I was asked if I would be interested in making some shop samples for Crafty Devils, and today I have a couple of the first cards I made to show you, they have been made for a while now, but with lots of Christmas cards to blog I thought I would wait until the New Year to show them off.

All products used are available from Crafty Devils

Me to You - With Love Paper Pack
With Love Glittered Decoupage
3mm Ribbon

With Love Paper Pack
X Cut Nesting dies - Scalloped Heart
With Love Die Cut Glittered Toppers
6mm ribbon, diamanté heart slider and Pearl

Here is a close up of the corner detail, I cut the message hearts from one of the papers in the pack, placing the die carefully over the wording I wanted before cutting.

There will be some more samples coming up over the next
week or two.

Hugs,
Colette xx

Red, Gold and Cream

Since I typed in the post title I have been singing the chorus to Karma Chameleon over and over, I know the words are actually red, gold and green, but cream sounds so similar it just popped
into my head as I typed it, LOL!

Today's cards were inspired by - of all things - a pantomime! Just after Christmas I took my youngest daughter and oldest grandson to see Cinderella at the Liverpool Empire theatre, and for the wedding scene at the end the whole stage was decked out in red, gold and cream -  red, gold and cre-ee-ee-eam (sorry still singing hehe!). Meg and Will are enjoying the end of the panto, and I'm sitting there thinking to myself, wow! those colours would make fabulous wedding invitations, (you can take the card maker out of the craft room, but you can't take the craft room out of the card maker LOL!). First thing the next morning I was busy beavering away and here are the wedding invitations that the panto inspired.

Couture Creations Embossing Folder - Tied Together (I don't think this available any longer)
Sizzix Framelits - 657561 Hearts
Peel off Wording
Small red pearls, gold gems, Cream 25mm satin ribbon,
red metallic edged ribbon and Pearl hearts - all Meiflower

Rose Creations - Spellbinders shapeabilities Die
Peel off wording
Ribbon, gems and pearl and diamanté flower centre - Meiflower.

I have another five wedding invitation samples (different colour schemes)  to show you over the next week or so, but at the moment none of the others are inspiring me to burst into song, which is lucky for my hubby as I'm a terrible singer hehe!

Thanks for stopping by today,
Hugs

Teddy Bo is two today, and to celebrate we are having a birthday blog hop.

If you'd like to play along it's really quite simple, just follow the links and hop from blog to blog, keep a note of the letter from each blog, and once you have collected them all, rearrange them into a phrase, head back to the Teddy Bo Challenge blog, and leave a comment containing the phrase (comments have been set to moderation so they won't show until the hop is over).
The randomly selected comment, containing the correct phrase, will win an amazing £20 voucher to spend on digital products from the Teddy Bo Store! WooHoo!

Autumn Leaves!!!

Yes, I know it's winter, but the way the seasons are so mixed up at the moment, it could be Winter today, Spring tomorrow, Autumn the next day and then back to Spring. Did you notice I didn't mention Summer, that's because we didn't have one last year LOL! let's hope this year will be better.

Anyway, back to the Autumn leaves, I wanted to show you a card I made a few weeks ago but I had so many Christmas cards to show before Christmas that I put it to one side, so today seems like a good day to post it on my blog.

I used a Sassy Cheryl illustration from The Paper Creator called - Sassy Sally and her Autumn Leaves (hooray! I finally got to the reason for the Autumn leaves title, hehe!).

Image - Sassy Sally and her Autumn Leaves - Sassy Cheryl at The Paper Creator
Digital Papers and frames - A Bee-utiful Day kit - Crazy 4 Monograms

Tomorrow we will be celebrating Teddy Bo's second birthday with a birthday blog hop and then on Saturday it is the start of the next Paper Creator challenge.

Thanks for dropping by,

First Teddy Bo Tuesday of 2013

Welcome to my first Teddy Bo post of 2013, there are some changes going on over at the Teddy Bo challenge this year, the challenge will be running monthly from now on and we will also only be having monthly New Releases.

As Teddy Bo will be celebrating his 2nd birthday on Friday 11th and we will be having a birthday blog hop, the challenge this time around is -
Birthdays

My card uses one of the new releases, and as Bo looks like he is holding a big Copic Marker, I thought he should probably use it to create something, hence the little handmade pawmade card LOL!

TEDDYBO_236 - coloured using Photoshop
Papermania embossing folder - Birthday - rubbed over with green ink pad
Papers - My Birthday Boy - Just So Scrappy
Ribbon and charm - Meiflower

Check out the rest of this month's New releases HERE

Pop over to the Teddy Bo Challenge blog and take a look at the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of my fabulous teamies, and don't forget our birthday blog hop on Friday.

Happy New Year

....and what do we all need at the start of the New Year, why a new calendar of course! so that's what I have to show you today.

Image and sentiment - Create With TLC
Papers - Viva La Diva - Eva Kipler (no longer available)
Flower Digital Stamp - Paper Roses and Leaves template - Fred she Said
Calendar tab - local stationers
Ribbon and Gems - Meiflower

The flower comes as an outline sheet of various sizes which you can either print onto the back of coloured paper, or colour them in yourself, which is what I did, (but as usual I used Photoshop and coloured digitally), then cut out, curl and shape, then layer up to get the effect you want.

Thanks for stopping by,
